i cannot find a setting for my genius i608X graphics tablet that i can manage the active area of the tablet

According to it's user manual, the tablet area settings are under the option "Board" in the device list.

Did you connect the tablet to the PC before installing the Genius Drivers? (the first time you connected it). It might be that the tablet is not using the correct drivers (windows drivers instead of genius drivers).
Then try this:
- Disconnect the tablet from the PC
- Install the latest drivers for the tablet (if they aren't already installed).
- http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html Use this, and for each entry in the list that belongs to the tablet, select "uninstall device"
- Connect the tablet again.
- If it worked then the tablet should appear in the device list.
Then try this:

In the device manager (control panel of windows), what driver does it say it is using?

i restarted my pc but no luck and i cannot find the driver in device manager
