Hi!
This is going to be a long explanation, so I hope you're not lost. ^^
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So you encounter various notes like the picture shown below:
And you want to change them to whatever style or colour you like but not sure how?
Follow these steps.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1.) Once you found the notes you're looking for, keep an eye out on the file location below the menu tab.
Based on the first picture, the file location seems to stop here. Great!
You just need to memorise it because you need it soon.
Be sure the filepath is in the same skin folder as you would want to change, otherwise create a new subfolder, paste it in and check its filepath again.2.) Go back to your main skin folder - where all of the elements are shown, and scroll down until you find
skin.ini
Picture shows the icon of skin.ini3.) Once you entered the file, go to [Mania].
Often times there are a lot because skins tend to do a range from 1K to 18K.
To differentiate it, you just need to focus on these:
Here, it is clearly stated that I'm going to configure 4K mania just an example.
4.) Remember what I told you about memorising the file location?
Yeah, you're going to need it here, and it looks complicated at first but if you're getting used to it it's a piece of cake.
Before moving further, please read this to know each and every command used in skin.ini:
Click here!Since you want to change the long notes, let's focus on:
"NoteImage#H"
"NoteImage#L"
"NoteImage#T"
//where # = integers; # = 0, 1, 2...
In this case, these are the commands you need to pay attention to.
And looking closer, the file location is said to be in:
It's file locationIt's filename - highlighted 5.) Change the file location and its filename.
By using the first two pictures, copy and paste it down the command.
In the end you should be like this:
Check the words I highlighted, because the hold notes will be: Blue -> Green -> Orange -> Blue in 4K mania.
6.) Save skin.ini and reload your skin by pressing "Ctrl", "Shift", "Alt", "S" keys altogether.
As a result, it will be like this:
BeforeAfter That's it!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, how do I change the keys and the notes for this one? I'm sure you know. It's the same steps as above. This also applies with:
ScorePrefix
ComboPrefix
HitCirclePrefix
This is also to everyone whose stuck with changing the skin elements as such.
As long as they're inside the skin folder.
Feel free to ask questions.
That's all for now and thanks.
