Irreparable

Hi, from my modding queue~ I love this song. *steals mp3 in the folder*

[General]

  1. Irreparable had "Widescreen Support" unchecked while other diffs had it checked.
  2. Tbh this song is pretty hard to map, since it's has so many bpm changes and the first part's bpm is quite low, you have my admiration there.
[Fixable]

  1. http://puu.sh/lTQQW/85431db0b7.png
  2. The first part of the song is a bit boring imo, because you follow the vocals so much that you left some part empty, like this part for example 00:17:687 - 00:27:367 . Try to make downbeats clickable, and you can map sth here too because it has a sound that players are able to follow 00:19:447 . Applies to Replaceable diff as well.
  3. 00:38:148 (1) - Spinner like this is too short for beginners, for this case and other cases with similar rhythms in the song, you should map a slider instead.
  4. 02:55:469 (1,2) - They didn't give a good symmetry imo, try making them more symmetrical please.
  5. 03:14:270 (4) - Instead of edgy slider, I would put a reverse slider instead since it emphasizes the rhythm better.
  6. From what I remembered, stacking objects isn't allowed in easiest difficulty of the mapset. I'm not 100% sure so try asking other about this.
  7. 04:12:410 (3,1) - You can improve this blanket.
[Replaceable]

  1. http://puu.sh/lTTtD/c4d3b221fe.png
  2. 00:20:987 (2,3,4) - I think there must be sth more creative than just stacking these circles under a slider.
  3. 02:56:963 (4,6,7,8) - This overlap feels weird imo.
Note : I think Fixable needs some work here, if you think sliders are boring then try doing some sliderarts, it would defenitely fit this song. For Replacable in my opinion you stacked objects too much, I can see that you're trying to emphasizes the flow but sometimes if the objects don't look good visually(like overlaps) then you have to try doing sth else or just give up on the flow on that part.

I hope my English didn't screw up somewhere, tbh I didn't take a look that much because I think there's sth more important to fix(which I listed above), you can catch me in game if you have any questions, just don't give up because I like this song lol.
Good luck~

I did my best but it's hard to map something more than the vocals since the first part is a lonely organ over Chris' voice.
  3. 00:38:148 (1) - Spinner like this is too short for beginners, for this case and other cases with similar rhythms in the song, you should map a slider instead. I made it end in 00:40:568 instead. Maybe if more similar opinions arise I'll make the change into a slider. I'm not really good with Easy diffs...
  4. 02:55:469 (1,2) - They didn't give a good symmetry imo, try making them more symmetrical please. Did my best
  5. 03:14:270 (4) - Instead of edgy slider, I would put a reverse slider instead since it emphasizes the rhythm better. A 1/2 reverse in 144 BPM without pauses would be confusing for a beginner, imo
  6. From what I remembered, stacking objects isn't allowed in easiest difficulty of the mapset. I'm not 100% sure so try asking other about this. Will do
  7. 04:12:410 (3,1) - You can improve this blanket. I don't see any room for improvement... I map in 800x600 tho, maybe that isn't helping me. Sorry doe
[Replaceable]

  1. http://puu.sh/lTTtD/c4d3b221fe.png Fixed
  2. 00:20:987 (2,3,4) - I think there must be sth more creative than just stacking these circles under a slider. Not sure if that would be good since the circles follow the off-beat vocals, but ok. Willing to change it back if ppl complain tho
  3. 02:56:963 (4,6,7,8) - This overlap feels weird imo. Changed that part.
Note : I think Fixable needs some work here, if you think sliders are boring then try doing some sliderarts, it would defenitely fit this song. Hi, NM from my queue!

Disclaimer: I'm pretty new to modding so what I say may not be useful! If this is the case feel free to ignore this mod, although feedback would be much appreciated! All mods are my opinion

This song is super important to me so I really hope you can get this ranked ^^ tbh the main reason I chose this song to mod first from when I reopened the queue is because of this, so best of luck and don't give up ^^

[General]

Seems fine to me

[Fixable]

Is this an easy or a normal difficulty? o.o

I'm personally not a fan of the overlaps in this difficulty, although that's just my opinion and it might be your mapping style, so I won't point out these, I just prefer a 'less busy' style on easy diffs (if this is a normal difficulty it's fine, it's just the slow beginning overlaps don't really appeal to me)

00:13:507 (1) - Starting on a blue tick is risky, although since this song essentially does start on an offbeat I think it's ok here, if it is a problem however you could have long sliders starting from 00:10:647

00:15:927 (4) - I would Ctrl + J this slider for a better flow, since the angle of the slider makes it a relatively big flowbreak

00:33:967 (1,2) - This is very hard to read on easy/normal difficulties, try to avoid perfect stacking notes in this fashion wherever possible

00:38:148 (1) - Afaik this spinner is unrankable since there is less than two white ticks of recovery after the spinner, Consider a long slider here?

00:56:188 (2,3,4) - This also is a pretty large flow break, the angle of the slider end suggested a continuous flow going upwards but it instead goes straight to the left, and the second slider goes right back down again which is fine in harder difficulties, but since people playing easy/normal maps will probably be new players or leaderboard farmers zzz it's best to avoid things like this as much as posslble, or at least make flowbreaks if you wish to have them easier. To fix this I would maybe try something like this?

If you change this make sure to change the positon of the next slider due to potential distance snapping issues

01:06:308 (1) - I would extend this spinner to 01:08:728 - here since its when the organ changes chord and this still gives the required two white tick recovery time needed in easy difficulties

01:26:109 (1,2) - This is pretty hard for easy/normal difficulties since it's essentially a quick double. I'm not entirely sure what I can suggest here that will keep what you're mapping to at this part in the music, so i'll just point this out as a warning

01:30:509 (1,2) - ^

02:09:230 (1) - Not enough recovery time for this spinner

02:33:871 (1,2) - Same comment as 01:26:109 (1,2) - 01:30:509 (1,2)

03:04:224 - Super audible snare, i think this should be mapped with a circle, I often found myself quickly snapping to the 03:04:438 (4) - since I was expecting to play the snare here

03:07:644 - ^ (This happens a lot so I won't point these out, same readability issue though, I kept snapping to the 4)

04:23:097 (2,3) - Move these slightly lower for a cleaner shape/flow, so it looks something like this

[Replaceable]

00:21:720 (3,4) - I think changing these with a short slider would help with readability a lot, since they look like they're on the red and blue ticks but they're actually 1/3

00:38:148 (1) - I would again extend this spinner to as this is where the organ changes chord, I know you're following the vocals here but I don't think extending it will hurt this in any way, and also makes for a smaller break

01:02:128 (1,2,3) - I think stacking these (or at least stacking 1/2) would be better emphasis here, but it's only a minor suggestion

01:06:308 (1) - Again I would extend this to 01:08:728 - here since this is where the organ changes chords

02:14:730 (2,3,1) - Flow and shape here is really good, nice one! ^^

02:53:547 (4,5) - Ugly overlap q.q (The circle on 5 edges into the slider on 4)

02:56:963 (4,5) - Blanket can be improved

03:07:003 (3,4) - ^

03:12:132 (7) - Consider making this blanket 03:12:560 (1) - ?

[Irreparable]

00:22:674 (1,2,3) - I would not make this into a stack since it looks almost exactly the same as previous stacks but is played slightly differently can be misread, maybe a small triangle jump would be better here?

00:38:148 (1) - Ok i'm not gonna mention spinners anymore, but again extend to where the organ changes chord?

01:31:609 (5) - Howcome this note doesn't have an NC when the rest of them in this section do? eg 01:17:529 (1) - 01:24:569 (1)

02:01:750 (5,6) - I'm not personally a fan of this overlap, maybe consider widening to blanket the entirety of the slider instead of just the slider end?

03:56:167 (1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,1) - I honestly think you can include a stream jump here inbetween 03:56:167 (1,2,3,4) - and 03:56:594 (1,2,3,4,1) - to emphasis the drums switching from the snare to the toms, maybe something like this?

Is this an easy or a normal difficulty? o.o Funny thing. Fixable is Easy/Normal, Replaceable is Normal/Hard, Irreparable is Hard/Insane. Changes in the difficulty setting follow the change in the song.

00:15:927 (4) - I would Ctrl + J this slider for a better flow, since the angle of the slider makes it a relatively big flowbreak Alright, changed this part, now it flows better.

00:33:967 (1,2) - This is very hard to read on easy/normal difficulties, try to avoid perfect stacking notes in this fashion wherever possible Alright.

00:38:148 (1) - Afaik this spinner is unrankable since there is less than two white ticks of recovery after the spinner, Consider a long slider here? Sadly you're right. Done.

Your thing was good, I made my own thing. Thanks <3

01:06:308 (1) - I would extend this spinner to 01:08:728 - here since its when the organ changes chord and this still gives the required two white tick recovery time needed in easy difficulties Sorry, following the voice here.

I'm not entirely sure what I can suggest here that will keep what you're mapping to at this part in the music, so i'll just point this out as a warning Yeah, I know it doesn't fit but at the same time it's the only thing that fits, so I'm open to delete (1) if more people want it that way.

01:30:509 (1,2) - ^ ^

02:09:230 (1) - Not enough recovery time for this spinner And it's gone. Made the previous slider longer using a reverse arrow.

02:33:871 (1,2) - Same comment as 01:26:109 (1,2) - 01:30:509 (1,2) ^^^

03:04:224 - Super audible snare, i think this should be mapped with a circle, I often found myself quickly snapping to the 03:04:438 (4) - since I was expecting to play the snare here Remapped this part.

01:02:128 (1,2,3) - I think stacking these (or at least stacking 1/2) would be better emphasis here, but it's only a minor suggestion I'd love to put a jump here, that's what the song needs imo, but this is not the hardest diff, so it stays the way it is.

01:06:308 (1) - Again I would extend this to 01:08:728 - here since this is where the organ changes chords ):

02:14:730 (2,3,1) - Flow and shape here is really good, nice one! ^^ Thanks a lot <3

02:53:547 (4,5) - Ugly overlap q.q (The circle on 5 edges into the slider on 4) This one always annoyed me, fixed!

02:56:963 (4,5) - Blanket can be improved I can't make it better ;w; wanna give me some coordinates?

03:07:003 (3,4) - ^ x:184 y:284 if you move (4) you can see the blanket is technically perfect, it's just the placement what it makes it weird. Moved (4,5,6) over there.

03:12:132 (7) - Consider making this blanket 03:12:560 (1) - ? Alright.

[Irreparable]

00:22:674 (1,2,3) - I would not make this into a stack since it looks almost exactly the same as previous stacks but is played slightly differently can be misread, maybe a small triangle jump would be better here? I did a "small" jump here... hahaha fixed.

00:38:148 (1) - Ok i'm not gonna mention spinners anymore, but again extend to where the organ changes chord? Sorry, following the voice here.

01:31:609 (5) - Howcome this note doesn't have an NC when the rest of them in this section do? eg 01:17:529 (1) - 01:24:569 (1) Because it's the last note before the break. I mean, maps don't end with an NC, right?

02:01:750 (5,6) - I'm not personally a fan of this overlap, maybe consider widening to blanket the entirety of the slider instead of just the slider end? Nah, I love the flow here.

Did it. I'm not sure about the difficulty spike it creates tho.

Insane:
00:38:148 (1) - This seems like a random place to have a spinner, as well as a random place to end it. I know it's a little bit of a bitch because like there's no backing track but like meh. If you wanna keep the spinner i'd extend it to 00:40:568 -
01:03:448 (1) - this shape is weird it's like a goat dick please don't do that
01:47:449 (4) - I'd prefer this to be directly in (3)'s velocity instead of slightly above.

Hard:
I'm not sure if QAT get mad over custom diff names nowaday like it's really inconsistent so uhhh
00:38:148 (1) - same as insane
03:15:552 (7,8,9,10,1) - would be nice to have this be an actual pattern. Apply to all similar patterns.

Normal:
fine

fun stuff. It's nice when old maps get revived and finished up

This really does seem like an excessive amount of timing points. Since a lot of them don't even reset the measure or anything like that.

Edit: Let me rephrase the last sentence I had there.

There were good and bad aspects of both timings. Thoroughly consider both of them. My only warning is that I don't think this song needs this many timing points in it. Although, I could be completely wrong if you think otherwise.

i just did what i had to do as the current "simple" timing is far from sounding good enough for ranking.

timelines that does not resets the metronome are just to start the timing again on a main beat. it's on the ranking criteria or something...
