1. /θɪˈsɔːrəs/

2. /ˈtæsəˌtərn/ US or /ˈtasɪtəːn/ UK

3. /ˌpʌlkrə'tjuːdənəs/ US or /ˌpʌlkrɪ'tjuːdɪnəs/ UK

4. /ˈzaɪloʊs/ US or /ˈzʌɪləʊz/ UK

8. /ˈmeɪs(h)ɒnt/

9. /səˈraɪəsəs/ US or /sɒˈrʌɪəsɪs/ UK

10. /ˌiːəʊ'lɪdiːdeɪ/

Well that's what you're not supposed to do.

IPA isn't that hard since the etymology of it's characters is heavily influenced by the latin script. I can recognise a vague-ish amount of IPA characters but to be fluent, you can make it in a year from what I heard. IPA serves as a better indicator for phonetics.
Bluecord6411
here is what i think the answers are

thesaurus
tasitern
zilos
baklava
vibracy
zableoni
mesant
seryisis
iolididei
Julian_Kaiser
I lay my attempt:
  1. Thesaurus.

  2. Taciturn.

  3. pulkritudinous?

  4. Zealous

  5. Baklava

  6. vibrisi

  7. zabalioni?

  8. messant

  9. seraises

  10. *skip

I guess I only got one or two right.
DJ Enetro
  1. thesaurus
  2. taciturn
  3. pulchritudinous (?)
  4. zealous
  5. baklava
  6. vibrasive (?)
  7. zabaglione
  8. meishant (?)
  9. seraiuses (?)
  10. ioulidy (?)

I remember participating in a district-level spelling bee in 7th grade and a state-level one in 8th grade. With that in mind, I would suggest adding definitions and languages of origin for each set of IPA pronunciations.

I think that's the challenge, we are not supposed to know that information and to completely rely on our instincts.

Bump.

I don't want it to continue.
I just want the answers to the last round we did.
Not that more rounds onwards be necessary.

I kind of forgot the answers but I'll try. I'm also planning on doing an all-in-one round of this where you have to actually write the words so no autocorrect.

1. Thesaurus
2. Taciturn
3. Pulchritudinous
4. Xylose
5. Baklava
6. Vibrissae
7. Zabaglione
8. Muishond
9. Psoriasis
10. Aeolidiidae
