I'm trying to create a storyboard using a fake spinner and i cant seem to get it to work properly.

This is the storyboard I have

However, in the editor it just shows up like this

I know its possible, because Ive seen it used on maps such as http://osu.ppy.sh/s/6907

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

on these "i've seen it done before in this map" you can always open up the osu file and see what the options are.
