Plus, on a forum as large as this, one could figure that it's quite overwhelming and difficult finding friends and such. Sure, you could go to the IRC, but there's the fact one would first need to be comfortable doing it, and even then it's still very overwhelming in there.
Making a "Find a Friend" thread is a simple, easy alternative towards the ongoing subject of trial and error when looking for friends on a forum. Instead of knowing one specific thing about a person based on their posts, you can get a more fluid and in depth idea of who those people are like (assuming they're willing to participate and do so).

So, in the case of having no interest in it, why not just ignore it instead of saying how it's "sad" like some low life trying to impress a bunch of middle schoolers?

I never said I had no interest in what you said. Your overall ignorance and @$$hole nature simply bothered me to a pretty big extent, so I felt it was necessary to say something. Not for others sake, but more to feel at ease with my self. I'm not trying to impress anyone here, I don't give two s***s if anyone thinks it's "impressive" or not. What I do care about, however, is when the likes of you or others say how it's "sad" for there to be a thread for making godda*n friends. If it was the fact there was another thread already for it, then I apologize for my confusion. But overall, it looked like an act of intimidation or something else.
