Do you ever get mistaken for another ethnicity?

I’m Native American, but sometimes people mistaken me for filipino or Latino.

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a thing about racism. I don’t take offence to people misidentifying me. I just think it’s interesting to think that some people think I’m a completely different ethnicity.

Latino I kind of get, we look very similar. But filipino and Native Americans have distinct features that differentiate them IMO. Only thing really similar is skin tone and eye shape.

Has anyone else experienced something similar?

i feel like any asians who speaks fluent or foreign accent english can understand, people always just assume you’re a biracial, foreigner or an immigrant from another country

Sometimes people mistake me for nerd. I have to provide them C++ simulation of quantitative analysis on enthno-cognitive biosignatures to prove them wrong every time.

sometimes people i meet think im chinese or korean...

to be fair, my skin doesn't really have the same color as your average south east asian guy and my eyes have a fair bit of epicanthic folding in them, which is probably why some people think im east asian and not south east asian.

I remembered there were a few people thought I'm white - as in I'm a foreigner from US or UK, remembered that most of them said UK.

friend: really??
Me: wdym really?
Friend: I thought you are from America or somewhere near it
Me: And why you think that
Friend: Because you are good at english
