While that is its definition, to me it has a slightly different meaning. To me it is purposefully choosing not to know or accept a fact. If not, then call me ignorant about the word that actually means that.

Gotta back Brisk here. No official dictionary source lists Ignorance as anything other than the lack of knowledge or education (in early definitions). The latter in Railey's post may be what he refers to as a "street meaning", but I can't agree on that.
