Because I see most of the mods bashing OT to pieces because they pretend to be some overlords when in fact they're moderating a place full of weebs and asocial faggets. OT is pretty much the only good place here (apart from the language subforums that weren't included for obvious reasons). Sure, the post quality is still utter shit, but idk how someone can be so elitist about the rest of the forum when the shitty OT is the best part of it.
Point is, it probably wasn't you who said it (idk, can't say I remember ALL of your posts) but I know for a fact that some of the mods compared OT to 4chan and other cancerfests and claimed how it tainted the rest of the forum. Not that I give a shit about them, as this was for the sake of the argument.

i don't know what your beef is against the rest of the forums, aside from certain populated threads the content is decent, but maybe it isn't what you're looking for in a forum and i can understand that.
OT is just that less friendly neighborhood for people who've been around the block in more ways than one and so is that other website. if you can spend time in it and not feel unwelcome then you've probably wasted more time on the internet than is socially acceptable. keep in mind, most of the people that rail against OT don't get it. They see a part of the forum where people just fling shit at each other all day and they don't like it. And really, that's fine. The point of this place is specifically not to be welcoming to the average person.
When I get pissed about OT, I do it because I take for granted that the people that post in it get it. Cause if you're here and you made a shit thread by accident and you don't get it, then you'll get railed by everyone and promptly take your leave. If you make a shit thread and you do get it, then I assume you're just here to shit up the place.

I do completely agree with you on the two paragraphs in the middle, but I don't think that a guy who you can take seriously would actually wish for the rest of the forum to be like OT. I find it great that special people have a place here and I do think that people who frequent this part of the forum have potential to make it a place that the rest of the forum can never reach, but potential does not equal reality in most cases, and that means that OT is currently neither better nor worse than the rest; my point is that I do indeed think OT > rest, but no, I have no beef against the rest of this forum - I have beef against mods who think that OT is a trash bin, when it's no worse than the rest and is arguably even better for its potential.
As for the first paragraph, I don't really have anything against any part of this forum, but against the people who frequent those places.
I always say "kids", "kiddies" and whatnot, but fact is that there are plenty of straight out retards who frequently post in those places and make up a majority of the posts, and age doesn't excuse that. I will agree with you that osu! isn't the first place I would go to when looking for meaningful discussion. The forums seem to suit mindless small-talk a lot more and that's not necessarily a bad thing, that's just not what some people are into. For what it's worth, the entire "Other" forum category could be gotten rid of with little to no impact on the game; they merely exist to make the community come together and discuss other things than the game. Since the game has such a large userbase nowadays discussions lose interest little by little. I wouldn't expect a 14 year-old to have the same interests a 25 year-old has.
Glad we could agree on it. I'm not a fan of misunderstandings, especially when I respect you, Coloured Baguette.
