Considering you said you don't like HW's maps either I feel like you have a severe under-appreciation for CS3 mapping.Brian OA wrote:

I've played a ton of CS3 maps and liked them, but seeing this as an aim map makes me want to set it at 4.B1rd wrote:

I don't see how since in my time playing I've come across extremely few difficult cs3 maps. And out of those I feel like HWs best understands how to use CS3.Brian OA wrote:

HW's maps are in a completely different ballfield though can we not

Well, as an aim map, when I see stuff like this https://osu.ppy.sh/s/52411 , it ends up being pretty good aim/reading practice but the huge CS gives too much room for error. The playfield itself feels tinier than usual and so the impact you get is an easier perceived difficulty + an actually easier map to play unless you're not used to playing with giant circles.B1rd wrote:

imo it's just personal preference. I tend to bump the CS on jump maps that feel simple or easy, but you should consider that CS4 is, by convention, the most preferred for Insanes and such. Either way, I don't think the map gains or loses anything from getting bigger or smaller circles since it's pretty straightforward mapping. Aside from the change in difficulty, of course.Mahogany wrote:
Brian I'll consider your input on the CS and consider lowering (raising?) it, but I'm going to be taking other people's opinion on this too, and see what other people would like. I'd really like to keep it CS3 but if more people think CS4 would be better for the map, well who am I to say what's fun and what isn't?
nice meme friend, but seriously tho; the skill cap required to actually have fun to play osu! has gone way too farFlaus wrote:
The year is 20XX. Distance between notes has been increased to the point where multiple monitors are required to play beatmaps. In an attempt to further increase spacing, the standard circle size has shrunk to double-digit values. Approach rate has been increased to the point where locating notes is instinctual. Songs are now mapped in double time. In order to accommodate the speed of the players, 32nd notes have been introduced. Players have reached a skill level that allows them to consistently full combo any map that the 20XX mappers can put out. Because of this, first place ranks depend solely on spinners. Mappers are now utilizing spinners more than ever due to them being the only remaining factor in determining who has the highest score on a given map.
