I'm glad to see a Tales game on Steam but their recent titles have been so bad I don't know if it's even worth the trouble.
Look for discounts and that's it...
There are discounts for it?
Tales games have been sucking really hard, don't know why, though.
It's like they think they've figured out a formula for games that works, but it only goes about halfway before it falls on its ass on all fronts. Sometimes they have these decent settings with nice subplots and shit, but they just get downplayed after a certain point.
I think the latest game that was probably doing everything right was Vesperia, but I get a strong impression that the game was horribly rushed. It felt like a genuine adventure in a huge, fleshed out world that nobody else dared to do. The danger felt real, and the characters' stories gave off the impression that you'd be facing huge things, from the beginning to the ends of the world. However, everything the first half of the game built up amounted to practically nothing and like the two and a half continents you didn't visit yet turned out to be completely empty save for like a dungeon or something.
I want to believe Zestiria will have all I want in a Tales game, but it feels like I'm dealing with Sonic games again.
