My entire family had plans today and since I had nothing to do I spent the entire day alone cuddling with my dog while I watched anime and whatnot. They didn't leave me any food so I had to eat leftovers from the fridge. While this was happening, I found out that my friends went out and had completely "forgotten" to invite me. Internet was out for about 3 hours and I could only pass the time by talking to my dog. I also forgot to take out the trash so the front yard smells horrible. My allergies acted up and I keep sneezing like a madman. It's almost 11pm here and I'm still alone, talking to my dog like he gives a shit about what I'm saying.

I did't know that a dark part of the internet existed like this. They basically said that the surface net is small compared to the deep web.

The deep web can refer to any website with dynamic content that can only be accessed in certain situations. For example, one could argue that the Beatmaps subforum is a part of the deep web, as it requires a user account to access.
The online bank service you use to transfer money or pay bills? Deep web once you get past the login stage. It's not all that scary a concept. Sure it's become a catch-all term for "a place where online criminal activity occurs", but that is a pretty stretched definition.

Just like "regular" net, deep web can be riddiculously dangerous or safe enough for you to not have worry about much.
As per downloads, same rule as with regular net... dont download suspictious stuff/stuff you dont trust.
