Hi! I tryed to write something, I think I'm not very good at english but... at the end I made this. it's not so short. it's a little adventure in the ice
SPOILERSakuya and Nyquill are two detectives looking for a mysterious stone that is said to have special powers. It was called the "Note".
what they did not expect was that their journey would take them in Antarctica, and exactly in front of them now was expanding a huge frozen lake.
Sakuya and Nyquill were trying to be cautious in crossing the frozen expanse. Missile, the little dog that kept them company was even more tense and the two detectives felt almost guilty to take it with them, so Nyquill decided to release him and unhooked the leash.
The little dog seemed to hesitate a bit scared 'before turning and start a frantic race to the other side of a snowy hill.
Sakuya tried to feel the small pieces of ice resting gently on the sea.
Some did not seem particularly stable, while others were much more solid, and it was there that the two was cautiously trying to support their feet with lot of attention.
Step by step they were approaching to the other side and for now there seemed to be no obstacle yet.
Neither of them had the courage to speak, not even a word, they could hear only the wind roaring cautiously between the white expanses that were around them raising small snowflakes resting on the ground and once in the air seemed to be of little puffs of grayish smoke.
The atmosphere was very rigid and at times seemed to immobilize the time.
Neither wanted at least imagine what was underneath those ice, but in some places they could see some rifts between some small water jets that small waves trapped in the ice cage were trying to destroy in order to get out and breathe outside of the thin ice prison.
Only a misstep they could break that glass floor so beautiful and yet so deadly.
The water that was below had to be really frozen in there, falling in there would have been incredibly disastrous and the two would have risked hypothermia.
"We're almost there ... we are almost in half ..." Sakuya said softly, but with the silence that reigned his words seemed to echo everywhere.
Nyquill did not answer but he could hear very well her attention.
Sakuya suddenly stopped completely. He tried to locate, touching with his foot sheet of ice more solid, but seemed to be finished in a dead end.
Nyquill waited frantically to take another step: the forced immobility was making her waver.
Then the guy decided and tried to rest it on a sheet of ice. He tried to be as gentle as possible but in that case also the slight pressure seemed to cause an immediate split in the ground.
Sakuya immediately withdrew his leg trying to stand still, as if trying to limit the damage as much as possible. when he just leaned back on solid sheet, however, felt like a crunch stronger and also the slab that lay beneath their feet began to give way.
The two were still petrified and could only watch for a few seconds what was happening around them: the whole stretch of ice was becoming full of cracks and splits that did not seem to want to stop.
Neither knew what to do, what was the best move, the flatness of the landscape was not allowing them to have solid references and did not have any support, it was like being in an invisible cage.
Suddenly Nyquill tried to take back. The two looked around, but knew they had to act quickly.
"Let's get to the bottom running! Here! In front of us! It is the best way there are fewer cracks in the ground, "said Sakuya to his partner as fast as possible.
"But let's split! We need to distribute the weight or risk of collapse both in the water! "
Soon the detectives wasted no time. The two tried to be more agile as possible, but at each slab seemed that their steps were becoming heavier and heavier, and that more and more slabs were collapsing under their feet.
Every movement corresponded to a crunch, every moment was precious and stop on one of those crumbling slabs would be too risky.
In addition to centering the fine points of support was also necessary to identify the plates firmer and especially those less small.
But to think in such a situation was impossible and it was the instinct to guide their movements.
The two came more and more to the most solid part of the stretch of ice was probably the one where the ice was thicker and in fact was the one closest to the opposite coast.
Nyquill with a final step came there and almost dropped to the ground. Sakuya was coming, but here's misstep came and the boy saw a slab turning right at the arrival point and nearly half of his body was in the water.
The sheet of ice pushed against his body that the boy was trying to keep out of the water as possible.
Nyquill hastened to get to him.
As soon as she was in front of him grabbed his hand and tried to pull him up.
The pressure that the water over him was great and neither was able to make the decisive move that would free him from the grip of ice.
"I can't do it! You must be stacked!" Nyquill seemed really desperate, trying to turn around, trying to find a support or something that could help her, but the environment was still hostile.
"I can resist!" Sakuya tried to reassure her, but he knew it would be difficult.
Suddenly she heard a sound, it was not natural, no creaking, more like a bark.
Nyquill looked up and saw in the distance Missile running on the ice with agility, and with his little body he could not shake even a small faction of land.
Nyquill herself smiled. she did not know how it would be able help but she felt less alone.
The puppy was really fast and in no time he was in front of them; running the dog gave a very strong blow to the slab that was pressing on Sakuya moving vertically: it was a risky move, but it served to liberate much of the boy. Those few seconds were enough, and Nyquill did not miss the opportunity to pull with all her strength the boy out of the water.
finally in a few seconds the boy was finally out of the water.
All three lay on the ground, on the solid ice, exhausted, but happy to getting away from that tragic situation.
Nyquill After a few minutes got up and went to caress Missile "what a good dog! - Repeated to him- you are great! Do you realize what you've done? The dog seemed not to hear, but it certainly was perfectly aware of having done a good thing.
"Someone should have trained you really well! - Exclaimed Sakuya- I really have to thank him!"
"Yeah ... you really are a great!"
"Just so! but ... better to make something, or my legs will freeze! With this short run we did not really come a long way, we are very close! "
"right! Soon we go! Up! Come Missile! "Nyquill called him toward her.
The dog seemed to really be very active, but in that case the two really owed him a lot, and also Sakuya's life.
The emotion was felt, now more than ever, the fantastic stone was close and they could not let it escape.
The two came closer and closer and the landscape was passing more and more into the background compared to their main objective.
The walk was exhausting and waiting to find out what would be the next was even more so.
Nyquill's legs were trembling, but kept the smile, this time knew she could keep with tranquility, yet for a while '.
They were now in front of a huge expanse of ice: a completely flat ground, sparkling and white as ever, a white that seemed more intense than before, even more than all the rest of the snowy expanse of the whole of Antarctica.
The sky was totally blue, and the sun on the horizon in front of them did not give any trouble.
It was obvious where was hidden the note in front of them between the flatness of the landscape, a small mound of ice was standing with a very particular form.
It seemed as if a wave of the sea had suddenly solidified together with the note and now stood there for a long time as if no one had dared to break that wonderful creation.
inside the ice glowed a faint light of a delicate pink and tender.
The two detectives were now in front of that ice formation, with the heart pounding and rush to find out what would happen next.
Nyquill came by and saw inside that little pink pearl shine before her.
The girl held out her trembling hand, grabbed it and when she closed the palm with the pearl inside it seemed to go beyond that ice easily, as if it was an accumulation of tiny snow crystals fragile and almost insensitive to touch. The feeling was to grasp an object property in midair.
When she pulled her hand away the mountain broke up and the ice that composed it mingled with the rest of the snow on the ground.
The two detectives made a deep breath.
"we did it! ... we really did it!" said Sakuya smiling.
"yeah... we did it!" Was immense satisfaction and happiness felt incredibly.
suddenly the stone began to glow and emanating a bright light in the sky creating a beautiful aurora that enchanted the two detectives. an incredible show full of colors and lights. who knows, maybe that was the mysterious power of that stone, maybe it was not much special, but it certainly paid off them both of all their efforts in that stretch of ice. the rest would be left to the scientists, and maybe one day all the world will know the real power of the Note.
it was a hard and dangerous journey, but this time the two detectives were able to complete their mission and return victorious to their base, this time with the new agent: Missile.
