To the people who play with transparent cursor trails and sliderfollowcircles (or those who've tried to play like that), find that it's harder or easier to play without the 2 said parts?

For me the trail helps keeping track of the cursor, but it mustn't be too flashy. http://osu.ppy.sh/s/40440 for example I don't like the trail on this map. It's not ugly but I can't play well with it.
Slider followcircle is kind of a must, since seeing it shows me exactly where my cursor can be.
