Last year there were 22 submissions (excluding the hosts) but I'm confident that we can top that this year.

Yup. One of the reasons why I started this last year was because I wanted to see some diversity to regular anime avatars.

Well I could add a rule that you'll have to vote once you enter the competition, but do we really need that?

I'd like it if you're only allowed to write who you voted for in the thread after the vote entries are all finished.
One could see which is most popular and which is not and then give the most unpopular avas 3 points and so on

It's in the "How to vote" spoilerbox. And yes you can vote for those whose avatars are "unpopular" but that would defeat the purpose of voting for your favourites.
