Where do all the Taiko/mania/ctb maps come from?

So I decided to play some Taiko today for fun, I thought I would only be able to play maps with the Taiko drum next to them then I noticed

You can play literally any beatmap on Taiko/mania/ctb

Yet it seems to me like the people who make Osu beatmaps simply wouldn't want to/wouldn't enjoy making the other game mode counterparts for their maps.

Are all these maps auto-generated? Or is there some secret club of people who make the other game-modes for maps becoming ranked

If a map is not mode-specific (No extra icon), then they're mapped for regular osu! and then get converted to Taiko, CtB or o!m maps automatically.

The mode-specific maps (Maps with a little Taiko, Fruit or Piano icon next to them) are specifically mapped for that gamemode.

As already mentioned, standard maps are automatically converted. It's not really complex as taiko mapping is close to just hitsounding the objects.

Standard maps work in any gamemode, but gamemode specific maps only work in their designated mode.
