So I just recently started playing CtB and after I got used to it a bit I found myself always turning on the Perfect mod. I was just wondering if this is considered a noob move?

Why would it be

Using PF is harder for me, because I get nervous too fast, so is not something bad ^^

having SD/PF in your mods gets you more pressured.

Using PF to SS is easier not to lose concentration to look at the accuracy, and it can't be noobish since you're actually SSing it.
Raging Bull
No, but it sure as hell more annoying for me instead since random fails.
Drafura
Nothing is noobish but if you only play maps you can SS, then you'll not progress that fast in term of skill.
It is a good mod when you have an objective on a specific map.

agree .w.

SS is hard
SS with mods is more harder
SS with 3 mods it too hard
SS with 4 mods is miracle . . . . . even it's the lowest diff

& if you can SS that easier , then you're more than experienced player :)

Dito. Whenever I turn one of those two mods on, I tend to make mistakes at even the easiest parts of a map, due to the nervousness and anxiety of making a mistake ...

i don't think is a noobish thing, but personally i prefer to not use perfect mod =w=)b less acc = more fun for me :P love to have some #1 with A/B or C or D *D*
Drafura
#1 with D is the hardest and actually impossible on some maps (only C).

Nothing is Noobish while you were practicing
Stefan
Eh.. why should be that noobish? Just because someone saves one second by not having to press Esc+Retry?

It's Categorized in Difficulty Increase Mod , so why would a Difficluty Increase Mod called 'noobish' ?

no it's not noobish D: it's more like ambitious ? imo

Well, usually (unless it's easy) I give it a few plays to get the feel of it.

Thanks for all the replies by the way, wasn't sure how active the CtB forums were but I guess they are used.

No, I don't think so.
It's a nice way to practice, until you get the hang of the beatmap.

No reason you should call it "noobish"

Using PF mod is just exactly what it says on the title; If you don't get an SS you auto-retry.

It's not noobish. It just makes you fail when you don't get perfect. Just like Sudden Death makes you fail if you miss a combo.
