Try to simplify it if you want, but it's more about your approach to how you word it, maybe not even the words themselves, but the sentence in general.
Being direct counts. If its a metaphor, show that. If its referring to a previous inquiry to throw some reasoning in there, show what it's referring to.
For example, I would have liked to word your current signature as: "People often think they're justified somehow in their actions, in the reasoning that they consider people's input on them mere "hate". The thing is, everyone else considers that "constructive criticism"."

Well, it's likely that I think more critically to define what my thoughts are on whatever subject I'm confronting, but I get pretty distracted, or get lost in thought sometimes.
