What is the pool?
The pool consists of maps ranked in the last 24 hours.
How does it work?
My discord bot (Elitebotix#4152) will message you on which map to play and how much time you have. (Played in solo)
In case qualifiers will happen (over 16 players) you will be divided into groups of 16 players each depending on your qualifier result (Your best score will count excluding fails).
After you got assigned a group you will be playing up to 10 knockout rounds (played in multi for first 4 divisions otherwise also played in solo and your last score will count including fails, unfinished runs and restarts)
What can I get?
For now the 1st place of each bracket on the finished quarter yearly leaderboard will receive 1 month of osu! supporter. Other than that there is also a raffle at the end of each season with a ticket as an entry for each day you played! This might increase in the future.
To sign up you will need to message the bot / use a channel where the bot has access.
I recommend joining the discord server below where the pools are sent in and some info channels are hosted - you don't need to as long as you have a mutual server with the bot though.
When you are able to message Elitebotix#4152 follow these steps:
1. Use "/osu-link connect username:<osu username>" to let the bot message you ingame to connect and verify your account.
2. Follow the instructions given by the bot to verify the connection next.
3. As soon as you verified that the linked osu! account is yours you can use "/osu-motd register".
4. Play when it's time!
Everyday at 18 UTC the bot will grab all the maps which have been ranked in the past 24 hours and sort them by difficulty.
Maps which are longer than 5 minutes (after DT for DT maps) will be removed from the list of potential maps.
There is also an upper Star Rating Cap of 6*.
If needed (more than 16 players) each pool will also have a Qualifier Map which will be between the 5th and the 6th knockout map in difficulty.
At the end the pool will look something like this and will be sent into the corresponding channel.
After the mappools have been created you will receive a DM by the bot telling you which map to play in solo.
All the maps will be FreeMod which means you can use any mods except for Relax, Autopilot, Auto and ScoreV2.
However you will need to use DoubleTime on DT maps.
NF scores will be calculated times 1.75 outside of multis!
For the qualifiers you will have 10 minutes to submit a score on the given map. Your best submitted score will count. Failed and unfinished scores will not count.
After the qualifiers are over the bot will rank all the players by score and divide them into different groups of 16 players each. That means as long as you submitted a score on the qualifier map you will be assigned a group/lobby to play in and there is no way to be knocked out.
During the Knockout Phase you will have 2 minutes + the map's total length to submit one score. (In solo)
Note that your very last score will count. This includes submitted fails and unfinished (re-)tries!
If you get into the first 4 divisions you will be invited into a Multiplayer lobby instead.
After each Knockout round one or two players will be eliminated depending on the player amount / stage until there is a winner.
At 19:30 UTC the bot will automatically create (temporary) leaderboards for all brackets.
The leaderboards will be using a points system.
You will get points from placing well in the qualifiers depending on your rank and how many players participated on that day.
You will also get points from getting further into the knockout lobby.
These will scale with how many players are participating that day, the lobby you tried to get into and the later you get knocked out.
Depending on the leaderboard different filters will be applied. (Limited to currently registered players only)
1. The daily leaderboard will show all the placements / points gathered on that day.
2. The weekly leaderboard will show the best players of the week limited to their 4 best days.
3. The monthly leaderboard will show the best players of the month limited to their 20 best days.
4. The quarter yearly leaderboard will show the best players of the quarter year limited to their 60 best days. (Used for prizes)
4. The all-time leaderboard will show the all-time best players without any limits.
