Hello Guis,

Like the title already says, I'm working now on a beatmap of a recent Nico Nico Douga Parody on 7 Colors of Nico Nico Douga, names 8 Sides of Nico Nico Douga.

We're still searching for people who want to join. If you want to participate in this Collab, don't hold back and say it.

I already got the timings right to my opinion, and will upload it tonight to work in progress. I made some beatmap before, I think they all 3 died, so I already have a little exp. with mapping.

But since this is a long song, 11 minutes excl ending credits, It's a lot of work. I don't mind doing it alone, but maybe if someone likes the song, and wants to do a collab with me, it would be a pleasure to work together.

I uploaded the beatmap for others to check out the timing. Actual mapping hasn't begon yet, for I am waiting if people are interrested to work together.

Well, I was thinking on making a normal mode and a taiko mode, since I started playing Taiko a lot, and this song is great for a taiko beat. It would be my first taiko tho, so I don't know how this will work out.

This song (octagon version) is also a collab of 20 people. It would be awesome to get just as much people, or a lot in the first place. I'm not really a big fan of several styles in a Osu song, but it would be fitting for this song.

Yeah, well, Doomsday's version of the original was a collab, that went pretty great really, but yeah, keeping it to a standard as in not going from jumps and symmetric sliders to streamfests and such is important.

It would be awesome to see a collaborative map for this song. I was actually thinking of doing it myself but I've never even mapped any song yet. I'd like to at least map 2 or 3 songs before I put my name on the list.

Huh... I've always wanted to do a collab part in a "Nanairo no Nico Nico Douga" project...

If this gets more serious, I will do the Hammer/RED ZONE part.

If not, perhaps around the Windows parts.

Anyway, for the beatmap itself, I was thinking of a little storyboard, with the names of the beatmappers for the parts they mapped, and a credit roll, which is already in the video at the end, so that fits great. Maybe, also a title for each part with the title of the song.

That's a good idea for a storyboard for collabs.


Can't wait till we get to mapping this. For the Taiko collab, I'd be fine with mapping all parts, of course divided with others who're mapping it. I like this song~

If we get more people that would be cool, but we don't necessarily have to, it'd just be faster probably.

Well, if Kuro is still interrested, we only have 3 people for the Taiko collab, but still only me for the Osu collab. Tomorrow I'll be leaving for a midweek vacation, so maybe more people will sign in for this while I'm gone...

If you mean the BPM timings, I already made them, but it surely doesn't hurt if more people look at it ofcourse.

Anyway, I'll take the storyboard on myself, just choosing a part to map. I was thinking of doing everyone 2 parts at max, and wait till more people sign up for this, like I said before. If no extra people signed up in a week, we can divide the unoccupied pieces.

I now looking which 2 parts seem interresting to me.

Also, about the timings, most are good, but I added one.

Nope, those will change just before the actual mapping will start. I'm trying to gather more people to be sure we can get this off the ground before doing stuff related to mapping besides timings 'n stuff.

What do you mean with the chart? Who is going to do which part?

Anyway, it's here 1:44am already, i'm going to get some sleep and catch the plane tomorrow. Ill check back in when I arrive at the appartment.

Hi, If possible, would I be able to join in? I've done some taiko mapping before (unsubmitted stuff) but I wanted to get started with a collab.

As for parts, I would love if I could steal 10:23:010 - 11:11:023 (second last) and 06:52:127 - 07:55:325. Besides from the ending, they are my favourite parts to the song.

...any reason for octagon version? :D

Just because the song is awesome, and imo better than the Vocaloid version. Also, it is maybe a fun idea to make hitcircles for both taiko as standard in a octagon form.

Also, I took a look how to make a background vid, but I failed. Has someone more expierence with this?

Are we gonna make a bg vid with the actual video? I know how to do it. Get an flv version of the video and you'll be able to use it.

You can use this website to get the video. Just copy and paste the youtube link and run the java.
Download the video, put somewhere in your file folders, browse for it from the osu editor and pick it for insert background.

Or I could just do it, or are you wanting to make a storyboard?

I just brought up the octagon version because there are some parts where the sound matching doesn't line up correctly and it ends up in either off sync notes or just plain noise. Sure, the vocaloid one isn't the best, but there are much better versions.

I might just like that one better, maybe cause they're actually singing. I still like octagon but I can't make a decision to keep or change it.

They're good for different reasons. Oh gosh I really like the Nanairo version more lol

I would personally be on the side of you changing it. We haven't really started the mapping process yet and such a small change is VERY feasible. You might need a different MP3 from the one from that video in order to have the ending section, but I'd be willing to find that for you if you wanted.

I'd like it to be changed if possible. Even if it's not changed though, I still like the octagon version, so I'll still stick around to map it.

I guess it's up to silent. I'd really like doing the one I posted, simply because it's a "better mix" in general, and it would end up being a much more professional collab. If I wasn't at school I'd go through all the parts of the song where it seems less professional in the octagon version (un-tuned tones, timing issues, just random rhythms/gibberish that doesn't end up making sense, even for the subject material).

I listened seriously to the song, and personally I prefer my own version, all the chorus singing is in my opinion a bit too overwhelming, and on big parts confussing, and not understandable. I''m listening this with a Sennheiser headphone, and at the "hammer'' point I hear more "noise" than music or singing.

I understand the opinions of others, but I say no to changing the song.

Also, if people want to stay on this collab, I don't mind that others make a beatmap of Nanairo's version, and use parts of this beatmap if it becomes a good map, but it would be a low blow if someone decides to start a collab on the Nanairo and take away people from this collab, despite everyone is free to choose what they do. Just my 2 cents.

I see that many people like to take part in this, so, if actuall mapping is going to begin, it shouldn't take a lot of time to get it finished.

I downloaded a FLV, but that file was pretty big. Is there a certain max of MB for bg vids?

The storyboard is more for credits and song titles. I was thinking about hitcircles in octagon form, but if others "say nah, don't", then I won't.

PS dont see me as a bad guy now >:(

Well as I mentioned in my previous post, I'm gonna stick to mapping in this collab no matter what.
Lol I don't see you as a bad guy.

I also believe there isn't a strict maximum on video file size, but people with some crappy computers can't handle big video files. I don't think we should necessarily cater to them unless you want to so the amount of memory taken is smaller, though then the video will have worse quality the less it is (240p and 360p) if you got 480p.

I do not exactly know if I am right, so it'd probably be better to ask someone who does know if they're right.

Well, I was playing with After Effects to reduce the filessize, I''ll take a look when I get home. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't matter tho, cus the song is pretty long, and I''m distracted quickly. But not everyone is like that, and if they do, they can use the no-video mode, so in the end~

Uh oh, I separated them from my inherited points so it might be a little weird. I already mapped my parts and used kiai time where I saw fit so I think some of those might have kiai time on them. owo
