To get better at drawing anime, stop drawing anime.
It's derived from realism in that it's a stylized representation of what we see in real life. It breaks a few rules to accommodate this stylization which is what results in the unique visual appearance of anime. I want to be proficient in realistic artwork, so I'm going to draw lots of anime girls until I have a strong understanding of what not to do.

Thats not entierly true. I know a few people who do draw the skeleton beforehand, but its clearly a lot more efficient to learn how to draw the proper body without anatomical and proportional mistakes. You don't need to know how to draw a proper skeleton, unless you plan on drawing skeletons
The shape of the skeleton isn't as important as knowing what bits are straight and what bits bend. Meaning, you don't have to know what the bones themselves look like, since you never actually see them. What's more important is the meat that's slapped on to the bones - the musculature. Looking at a body with the skin removed and drawing the muscles is pretty educational.awp wrote:

Faust is correct, complaining will not really get you anywhere, rather then just talking bad about your work, fix whats wrong, or keep on practicing.

I'm just depressed atm (probably because of comparing my less-experienced self to others. I just realized hey wait, I'm not others, I have my own style
