Using flashlight basically pushes your brain to memorize more, if you can do the same as playing with flashlight then I'm sure you'll get better in your studies.
I'm not here to say that being "good at flashlight = smart" but I think that, yeah, it helps in the memorizing. I will say that memorizing words and memorizing notes are VERY different but you can still apply what you learned on playing flashlight. Plus, I think that flashlight is the mod that requires the most brain power (the closest is probably easy mod on 5* above).
You're just trying to find an excuse to play the game rather than study hard tbh. just study and stop playing osu for your own good.

I personally found FL to be more muscle memory so it wouldn't even help in the slightest. If you want an effective method of memorising things for class, learn about and use an SRS system like Anki
I won't say flashlight mode will be helpful with studies, because however I look at it seems irrelevant, but when it comes to improving muscle memory i'm sure it does at some point
