lets say about 500,000-2,000,000 people with varying interest in the game suddenly make accounts due to a popular youtuber or twitch streamer making osu! content out of nowhere. for the sake of analysis, let's also say they all *mostly* main standard. what would happen to the current ranking hierarchy? would the community take it well? and most importantly, how would bancho hold up???

They'd all be 7 digits (like me) lol, I don't think anyone's gonna lose their rank. If anything the ranks would improve, imo
Server costs probably couldn’t handle it and the game would die due to copyright issues.
Pretty much nothing would change. osu! already has been massively growing in recent times. And big streamers/youtubers have already played osu, e.g. Amelia Watson and moistcritikal
It would completely change the meaning of rankings as we know it. When referring to rank, people might just say the relative number (eg. 40k, 400k) instead of digits (eg. 5 digit, 6 digit) because it’ll be much more impressive the higher up you are because of inflation.
