To start off N. Korea doesn't even have the technology to launch a missile far enough to hit Hawaii let alone his the US for the next few years so that's out of the question. Adding on to that China doesn't even support what N. Korea is doing at the moment and have stated they hope the situation gets resolved peacefully instead of violently.
Even when they have the capability to launch missiles far enough by the time the button is even pushed the US will already have an interception on it's way to stop it. Also, I really hope the innocents in N. Korea that are unable to leave really can find a way out if a full scale war was to take place, because I don't see N. Korea coming out of it well with how many enemies they have.

People in the DPR Korea are having a considerable risk of having chuunibyou... That's what the situation are all about.
Fortunately, Chinese leaders are not likely to be chuunibyou patients, as for DPR Korean leaders...

I don't think they are really "forced", um, since there's a pretty strong belief of "Long live (rhetorically 10,000 yrs) General Kim Jong Il" or something among the general population, so it could be astonishing for some of the civilians to know that Kim Jong Il can't really make it to live that long. You know what, the doubtful thoughts towards communism would only survive till DPR Korean's preschool age. After that, even thinking about this for a bit could be very disrespectful and evil, so there's no way that these guys are reluctant to do that. Only those with pretty high education will not be fooled, but they know what's good for them, so they just follow the public.

In fact, I don't really know about DPR Korean situation, the descriptions I made above is pretty much according to the situation of China in 1970s. Those are what I do know, and I guess that DPR Korean gov is pretty much doing the same thing.
