If you haven't heard of it already, the "Swimming Anime" as dubbed by many is actually a promo video for KyoAni.



Too bad this isn't an actual series...
I would die to watch this, really.
So here's a petition Crunchy Roll made for this promo video to become an animated series:

Why wouldn't you want this as an animated series.

Tumblr exploded after this was shown and people got out of controlled when they found out it was just a promo.

Just a personal thought: this promo doesn't warrant its own thread.

KyoAni does this sort of stuff all the time. It mostly showed the fact that there is a rather sizable fujoshi/male-figure-appreciative portion of the fanbase, speaking of the reaction to it. It also speaks volumes of the 'major fans' who want KyoAni to 'only make moe' after seeing this.

I'm of the group of people that believes this SHOULD be a real anime, since it'd be different from KyoAni's typical moe-fan-pandering form. It's still pandering, but it'd target an audience that still can make quite a bit of money...

Also, is it just me, or are these commercials much more interesting than the stuff they actually put out? Besides for Nichijou, really.

But seriously, after seeing that animation, I'm agreeing with Miracle Lotus on this one. And if what Aoriki said is true, then there (is?) a chance of this becoming an anime. Hopefully it will happen \o/

Also one I don't support, but that's because we already have a general sad anime thread for people to mention that they thought Clannad was sad.

I would definitely throw money at KyoAni to make this a reality, though. They'd be doing something more than mundane slice-of-life, at any rate.

This is moe though; to the fujoshi at least.

Best bit was how dicked KyoAni was towards a mangaka; the poor guy had to indefinite hiatus his own 4-koma manga titled Free! which had been around for a couple of years (2011) because of it. The saddest part was that the artist, GAN, had only recently bought new drawing peripherals to continue working on the project after a successful first volume release in a very popular manga magazine.
