@ boat oh wow for some reason that didn't hit me. what tool would you use to smooth out the colour transitions to such an extent?? do you just blend with the brush by picking inbetween colours as usual or is there something else to it?
and yeah studies wow it's been a looong time that i've been thinking about starting to do them but i still haven't got round to it. laziness on my behalf i'm really bad at these things

In this case I just blended it out with a soft low opacity brush as a rendering step.

no.. although i do use a large resolution, i tend to work at 25-33% zoom, so in that particular case the canvas would fill the majority of my screen. i generally like to use a pretty big brush while painting so working zoomed in would make it very uncomfortable

Now, here is my second try of drawing a character. I have hardly drawn anything before this, so even though it doesn't look that great (even bad and ugly, maybe
), I'm pretty proud of the result. I used some random image found on google to help me out, but I did modifysome parts of the original artwork (weapons, the face, the ring around the neck, the arms).This drawing is based on S4 League.
This is only the beginning, I'm pretty sure I'll become better soon.
