So I played this beatmap: https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/290440#mania/857305, the 3.83* or "Maximum" difficulty.
The results of the first play were this:

I got 109pp for the play.
Now the interesting part comes with the play I made after that:
I got 117pp for that play, and you can see that I got about 40.000 points more than with the first.
My question is: How?
Just how did the second play get a score this much better and earned this much more pp?
It has less combo, more misses, worse acc, worse numbers on good, great and marvelous and only the perfect count is slightly lower.
I don't really know too much about the mania scoring system, but from what I know and from what my intuition tells me the second play should definitely not have 40.000 points more than the first.
How did that happen then is my question?
Can provide replays if needed.

mania's score system rewards consistency, so a play that reaches 600 combo once and proceeds to have much more inconsistent combo afterward will recieve a lower score than a play that reached 600 combo, broke the combo once, and proceeded to reach a high combo again.

in this case, the 2nd play probably broke combo at one spot by choking really hard and missing a lot in one spot, than building the combo back, which is what the graphs suggest

As positionix said, o!m scoring system rewards consistency for notes below 300, it can lead to pretty confusing scores, like when I got this

ok, thanks for the exxplanation
I think that might somehow explain it. Seems to make sense at least. Never experienced something like this before though, so this was really weird and confusing to see. Still somewhat surprised it can make that much of a difference, definitely gonna take another look into those replays

EDIT:
Well I looked into it again but didn't really see that much, just as PositioniX already said and as you can see the second play (the one with the higher score) had a way bigger choke than the other one but appeared a bit more like even throughout the rest. But I'm not really sure whether I really saw what I saw or whether I just saw what I wanted to see so idk.
Anyways, here are the replays if anyone wants to take a look at them:
