[Archived] Updater keeps freezing

Osu! keeps opening the updater but the updater freezes as it tries to check for updates and won't allow me to update or play. This happens every time I open osu! I tried redownloading and replacing the osume.exe but nothing changed.

Please try rebooting and see if that helps.

I rebooted my laptop and osu! crashed the first time I tried to open it. I tried again and now it's gone back to the same problem.

Might be worth restarting again and pasting the error message here when it crashes if it showed anything?

I rebooted again and the same thing happened. I got screenshots of the error message from when it crashed and of the updater when it freezes, but I still haven't figured out how to upload pictures to the forum yet.

try using puush (made by peppy)

or printscreen and upload the image on uppy alternatively: http://imgur.com/ (don't mind the images you see)

So I've been playing offline to keep it from opening the updater for a while and just tried to update it again. The updater froze like the usual but then it crashed and when I opened osu! again a message came up saying something about trying to read or write protected memory and other memory being corrupt and it told me to report it on the forum. Anyone got any ideas as to what's going on with my osu?
