Qualifying Process

All teams that enter the tournament will be eligible to play in the qualifier stage. However, the number of teams who will advance to the next round will be cut down to the nearest power of 2. The maximum number of teams who can advance to the subsequent round is 128. The criterion used to determine whether a team will progress to the next round is their performance in the qualifier stage.

  1. If 32 teams enter, all teams will qualify and no one gets eliminated.
  2. If 33 teams enter, the worst-performing team gets eliminated and the top 32 will advance to the next round.
  3. If 49 teams enter, the 17 worst-performing teams get eliminated and the top 32 will advance to the next round.
  4. If 63 teams enter, the 31 worst-performing teams get eliminated and the top 32 will advance to the next round.
  5. If 64 teams enter, all 64 teams will qualify and no one gets eliminated.
  6. If 127 teams enter, the 63 worst-performing teams get eliminated and the top 64 will advance to the next round.
  7. If 128 teams enter, all 128 teams will qualify and no one gets eliminated.
The qualifier stage will have a 4 song mappool that varies in skillsets tested. These tested skillsets will correspond to skillsets commonly seen in mappools throughout the tournament.

All four maps will be created by the map selectors and will be unreleased prior to the tournament qualification stage, to provide 0 opportunity for advantage through familiarity.

All teams will have two chances at each qualifier map, in which the highest single score will be used to calculate your final score.

Both players are required to play each qualifier once, with an opportunity to play all of them twice. However in the event of a no-show, a team will not be disqualified and only the scores from the present teammate will be taken for seeding.

We will be using Score V2 for all rounds of the tournament.

Play-Offs Process

The round after the qualifier stage (also known as the play-offs stage) is a single elimination stage with specific rules. After the qualifiers round, the remaining players, based on their seeds, will be divided into 4 different groups. Each group will have a different set of rules to follow.

1st-16th seeds: The top 16 seeds of the qualifier stage will advance directly into the group stage of the tournament. They do not need to participate in any matches in this stage.

17th-32nd seeds: Teams within this group will participate in one match in the Play-Offs stage. Their opponent will be a team from the 97th to 128th seed group. Teams who win their matches in this stage will advance to the Group Stage.

33rd-96th seeds: Teams within this group will participate in one match in the Play-Offs stage. Their opponent will be a team in the 33rd to 96th seed group. Teams who win their match in this stage will advance to the Group Stage.

97th-128th seeds: Teams within this group will participate in two matches in the Play-Offs stage. Their first opponent will be a team in the 97th to 128th seed group. If a Team wins their first match, their second opponent will be a team in the 17th to 32nd seed group. Teams who win both of their matches in this stage will advance to the Group Stage.

Group Stage

After the Play-Offs stage, the remaining teams will be divided into 4 different groups based on their seed. These groups will be labelled "Top Seed", "High Seed", "Low Seed", and "Bottom Seed". Groups (for the Group Stage) are then formed by randomly selecting one team from each seed group.

Each team in these groups will face each other once. In total, every team in the Group Stage will participate in three matches. The two best-performing teams in each group will advance to the bracket stage and the two worst-performing teams of each group will be eliminated from the tournament.

Bracket Stage

After the Group Stage, the remaining teams will be placed into a double-elimination bracket. The number of points needed to win each match as well as the size of the mappool used for the match will vary depending on stage. Mappools will be released approximately one week prior to their respective stages.

  1. Round of 32 and Round of 16: 11 FreeMod, 1 Tiebreaker, Best of 9 (First to 5), 1 Protect and 1 Ban per team
  2. Quarterfinals and Semifinals: 13 FreeMod, 1 Tiebreaker, Best of 11 (First to 6), 1 Protect and 1 Ban per team
  3. Finals and Grand Finals: 15 FreeMod, 1 Tiebreaker, Best of 13 (First to 7), 1 Protect and 1 Ban per team
