After getting my little sister into this game, an idea came to mind.
For those that like to play offline or would rather play against friends privately or play together in an internet cafe, or people in a secluded network, this would be a fabulous option.
Because of the nature of LAN, it can support as many players as you have computers, obviously.
If they're currently logged into osu! then they will use their osu! name. If not, they will use a name defined in Options, probably. And if not, the machine name will be used.
The host player will determine the map, and can boot players if necessary.
