I have edited an osu skin, kept the same original file dimensions however when edited I get a reult in the pause menu as the one below.
The intent is for the image to take up the entire screen, any help solving this?

Try use recommended size based on help/wiki/Skinning/Interface

That is an SD image with a HD suffix. Remove the "@2x" from its file name.
