Explain the issue you are having:
I guess my skin and a map just had a fight and they diplomatically shared the "hitcircle.png". My skin got the slider circle and the map's skin got the hitcircle part~

Is it reproducible? If so, explain the steps to do so:
Maybe.
  1. I downloaded a map without opening the osu!
  2. opened the .osz file
  3. the osu! opened itself
  4. osu! imported the map
  5. I played the map
  6. then gone to another map and had that Multiskin bug.
1. Do something
  • At first I toggled the Ignore skin part out and in, but that didn't work.
2. Do something else
  1. I redownloaded the map, but that didn't work as well.
  2. I tried this with another map. It had the same bug.
  3. Restart osu!
3. Problem Solved.

  • 4. Why did this even happen?
Include any relevant video or screenshots, and hardware information for hard crashes or lag issues:
The star hitcircle is in my personal skin and the heart hitcircle is in the map's skin.

I had this bug in multiplayer. All circles are map skin all slider are my skin

...why invalid...?
this has something to do with hitcircleoverlay.png being for sliders and hitcircleoverlay-0.png for hitcircles.
please don't remove it peppy T.T

This looks valid to me. The hitcircleoverlay thing is probably a different bug.

I got this yesterday with a bunch of maps.

Whenever I "ignore beatmap skin" in a beatmap with its own hitcircles, I get my slider skin but keep the beatmap's hitcircles.

this makes for a very unpleasant mix when playing beatmaps with their own hitcircles in them.

Even the "hitcircle burst" isn't mine:

I guess this is just another way to experience this bug.

With "Hidden" mod... all hitcirles are using beatmap skin and THEN diffuse to mine...(you can see it on sliders)
Tested on 2-3 songs
Ho to do it:

1.Run map with HD mode.
2.Exit and go to the editor and run the same beatmap.(test play)
3.Get back to SP add HD mode and run the same beatmap.
4. Ta-da! Now you have it...
Can be fixed by restarting osu!

This is not bug with not working "ignore skin" button

I can record the issue if needed...

Please test this on the test build; it should hopefully be resolved.

It seem to work on the Jubeatsu! map, the only testbuild map with custom hitcircles.

You can load normal maps, you know. Either way, assuming I didn't break the complete animation system this should be fixed. It would be nice if someone could test a beatmap/skin with animations to see if it makes any difference (on test build).

Works fine aside from my skins overlay-0 and 1 are taking priority since the maps skin doesn't have those present which has always done that.

Nope disabling "disable beatmap skin" breaks it...

I've added an extra condition for this case; please test thoroughly (latest test build).

To everyone experiencing this, make sure you don't have an animated hitcircle or hitcircleoverlay - theowest might have just found why this is happening. t/116736

I think these might be differ from each other. Most of us experiencing this bug didn't have animated hitcircles. The bugs are related though.

edit:

how? To replicate this bug you must play on a ranked/approved mapset.
Saten
Works w/o animated hitcircles

Yeah
They are currently broken, so it's impossible to test right now.

nvm, it seems like theo managed to replicate it somehow in the test build

It's still a problem, tested in osu! b20130131test

I previously thought you had to "play the map first to access the visual settings" in order to replicate this bug, but I was wrong. Sorry about that.

Here's a video I made for fun

I managed to replicate it as well
Though it's much easier to replicate if it were a ranked map.

I think I rebroke this while fixing something else, oops.

I'm havin this issue now

Please re-test on test build. I believe this should be resolved.
