Here's what I'm thinking right now: what a terrible introductory word. It's equivalent to assuming that the people who look at your text is a male. I feel like I'm discriminating when I don't mean to.

"hi guys"
"guys do you have this map"

However, it feels wrong to not start with a greeting of sorts.

What's a better yet still casual alternative for such a greeting in general? Should I just leave it out entirely?

Sounds like you're overthinking things. Did someone ever say they're bothered by this?
ninore
just say
"hi" or "hello"
"does anyone have this map?"
ZeikiN
guys is gender neutral right? right?
Nuuskamuikkunen
I don't find "guys" to be offensive, but I think "Y'all" is a good alternative.

I use a mix of "henlo", "hi", and not even bothering to say hello

I don't see why there is a need to explicitly address everyone tho

"Guys" isn't gender neutral by itself but people mostly use it for adressing a group of people. most people just associate "guys" with "everyone". so in that sense it is gender neutral. Atleast i think that's the case i might be completely wrong.

My brain can't process this

Guys is pretty much widely regarded as gender neutral when specifying a group of people. Same thing with the word "dude". There are plenty of terms that have evolved to just be used in a more convenient manner. I find that if anyone is actually unironically offended by anyone using "guys", then they're honestly overthinking everything. To be blunt, it also pisses me off when people get offended by such a petty thing. Though this isn't meant to be hostile in any fashion.

It's personal preference really. I agree that there's nothing wrong with using those terms as They are normalized and Therefore nobody takes offense. You could say something like "hey everyone" or "you all" or other common alternatives

I always say "eyyo!" To anyone who greets me
And it's a sign that I'm cheerful and happy to see you ^^

Just say instead:
‘Hey y’all, it’s Addison Rae’
Problem solved
