Recently I realize that I might meet a bottleneck for mania 4k. I did pretty well on 3.5 stars beatmap, but 4 stars was my limit and can't go any further. How did you guys overcome this period and improve your skill? Thanks!

That was an extremely tough period for me. Getting from 3.5 stars to 4 stars was very challenging for me because of the difference between their speed and complexity.

What I did to overcome this wall:
  1. I constantly challenged myself with very hard maps that ranged from 3.6*-4.2*. (But don't go crazy and start playing 4.6-5 star maps; I played maps which I could read but was really fast or complex for me.)
  2. Stay fit and healthy. (Mania is really muscle dependent so you need to eat properly and get 7-8 hours of sleep everyday for your muscles to grow properly.)
  3. Always take breaks. (Don't play for 6 hours straight; remember to take a break and go outside your room every few hours. It will help clear up your mind)
  4. Take a long break from Mania. (When you feel like you are stuck and aren't improving then take a break for a few days for at least 2 days. And do not play mania in this break.)
  5. I downloaded a lot of new maps every 4 days. (Don't be hung up over the same few maps, you need play a wide variety of maps if you want to improve.)
  6. Play more. (Keep playing the maps that are hard for you and you'll eventually be able to do them.)
This was a very tough leap to make but I somehow managed to do it. Things will be very frustrating at times take a break when that happens.
By looking at your plays I recommend that you not try 4 stars now and try to get above 800k on 3.5-3.9 stars map.

Good luck misakatouma and I hope you can become a 4 stars player soon.

What he/she said, also you've gotta be in a warmer environment to pump your muscles to the max.

I got through this time by PP farming easy 4 stars. Great confidence booster which can get you over that wall. As said above, higher acc is important, you need to be able to S 3 stars before trying to play 4 stars. Some tips I never tried but have been useful in the higher levels is using rate changers. The patterns in 4 stars are hard to find in 3 stars, and they're usually really high in speed as well. Try using half time to learn these patterns, or better yet download etterna or quaver to practice with a rate changer (as a mania main I hated the idea as well but I have to admit results are results). If you hate the idea that much you can try downloading songs with premade rate changes, but those are usually only found in the higher level. Also there's this rate changer for all game modes, but I've only used the outdated Hydria rate changer. Experiment a bit.

The stretch between higher 3* and 4* for me was quite difficult. Everyone else has given great advice, and I'd just like to emphasize the importance of downloading new maps. For the longest time I stuck with the same few maps, and I remember that I started progressing much faster after broadening my map selection. Also, don't be afraid to play unranked maps, even if they are graveyarded.

Besides that, it's always good to keep hydrated and drink lots of water, especially if you're in a warm place or plan to have a longer session. Looking away from the monitor every few maps also helped me retain stamina.

Good luck and have fun! :)
