Is 8k 7k+1 or is it something different? I know that maps can be made with symmetrical 8k or with 7k+1 style, but for some reason it's a totally different keymode to read for me. Am I really gonna have to start over from 1* with 8k or is it something like a skinning issue?

7+1k is just 7key with an extra column that is treated seperately from the main 7, used to accentuate certain sounds. for all intents and purposes you can just treat it like 7key and use a pinky to hit the +1 column
