I mostly just focused on speed up until now. I think I'm having trouble reading beat timing. Should I play SD until I get better or just play more in the range I struggle with?

SD should be avoided. Retrying on your first mistake every time is a bad habit. If you keep doing that you'll never develop your stamina/consistency.

Of course you can also try to add mods on maps you already fc or easy maps to make the map more difficult, which could give you new top plays

I hate playing with SD mod because i feel like it messes my entire FC ability up. So I just try to FC without it. So much better....
