Amazing idea.. It's good for practising a song in example 0.25 then 0.30 and so on till you can do it in 1.0x
Take my 4 stars <3

I like it because I always like playing songs quicker (especially if they have streaming!) but 1.5x is always too fast for me. A definable rate between 1-1.5x to gradually get better at higher bpm works perfect for me.

plz make it happen

YES PLEASE!!!
i want to be able to steadily increase the speed of a song. (like hexis)
i dont care if its unranked.

I absolutely support this feature request. As someone with prior experience with Stepmania, having more precise options for song speed rate really enhances the play experience. It creates a great environment for individual song practicing and tracking your improvement. It would also be very awesome to see which top players can pass the hardest songs with the highest speeds. It's not unrealistic to implement this either. Please consider it.

this would be 8/8 gr8 m8 if it happened

I love this idea and hope to see it implemented ^~^

Yes, and i think this should be only for solo for practice, i dont want this in multiplayer.
Madokaaa
Would be so epic even if unranked

Starless support here; having a scalable song rate that also has an influence on the score multiplier for those who play modes where you get a score boost from DT/NC would be awesome, and would likely showcase those who have more speed than required for just DT/NC...

... on the flip-side, it would need to be balanced so that people can't just rely specifically on DT anymore than they did before a change like this happened.
Adder
HT: 0.75x speed
DT: 1.5x speed
There should have been a 1.25x speed mod

YES WE NEED IT PEPPY ITS LIKE MCOSU please

I support this idea very much :)

Was thinking about this idea for some time as well, just never posted anything about it. For instance there could be a slider for dt and ht with values ranging from [1.5, 1.75, 2.0] for dt and [0.5, 0.75, 0.9] for ht and next to the mod symbol could also say the speed.

This could also be done with other mods as well for instance hr and easy which determines how small or large the beats are or something like that.

This could also add more variability in the scores without adding new mods, although there might be too much variety that it gets confusing when looking at the scores.

I support this but have no stars <.<

I am neutral on this.
The main problem is it would look disoriented. But it is just the looks, personally I don't care about how my game looks, but people like me are in the minority.
SupraLP
I don't know how to support this except for a reply;
I'd love to see that aswell with the pitch for nightcore... so that you have two sliders, wich determine speed and pitch. That's because from some songs I know a nightcore version and I think the normal is too slow, but double time is too fast and nightcore puts the pitch too high

im still waiting for this feature

i support this

Would love this feature, better/faster than using external programs to achieve the same goal.

i swear that would be impossible to pass someone in the global rankings like that if you get a bonus score multiplier

Well that one contradictory statement lol.

For it to be impossible to pass someone that would mean that you, by any means, can't get a higher score. I good example of that is full mod FC a map with no spinners. Now if you can always put 0.01x higher speed on a map like that then there is no longer any limitation to how high of a score you can get.

Now you probably meant that in regards to human skill. Don't underestimate human skill. People will be sniping scores for years if the song rate can be controlled to the hundredth precision.
TakumiBoi
what i mean is that such a minor change to speed for a small combo multiplier would be weird, unless you can see the person's speed multiplier in the leaderboard i can concur

It wouldn't even make sense mixing same rates in one leaderboard. Either each rate would need its own leaderboard or there would have to be some kind of 2D leaderboard that plots points for each score - y-axis being score and x-axis being rate.
