[Archived] cannot launch osu, need help

Problem details:
until a week ago, i was able to play osu fine however when i try to launch the game it does not work anymore, went to view the event viewer to see what was up and heres what i found:

I don't think that log is related to osu! crashing, pretty sure it is something else that caused that to be logged. In your event viewer your should be able to filter the logs to those that only contain the string "osu!" in them, any logs generated related to osu! will likely have that string in them. https://osu.ppy.sh/community/forums/topics/638421?start=6231904

Your .NET Framework seems to be outdated, osu! uses .NET 4.5 but in the logs it is showing the 4.0 version!... or maybe this is normal, but anyway, try to download .NET Framework 4.5, maybe it works, who knows

Details (taken directly from the downloader error)

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is already a part of this operating system. You do not need to install the .NET Framework 4.5 redistributable.

Same or higher version of .NET Framework 4.5 has already been installed on this computer.
