Don't use the patch as a skin! You have to open the patch folder, get the files from one of the sub-folders, and paste them over the base skin. Hope that's clearer.generic-name23 wrote:

Wow, after browsing around for skins for a while I actually gave up and tried making my own custom skin (didn't get any further than a custom cursor and a crude song selection screen).
UNTIL... I head someone talk about skinhouse and I clicked their most recent video.
This one is just pure gold - well, crimson, but.. - I can't think of anything that I'd change.

If you have the skin already installed, go into your settings in osu! and click on the button that says Open skin folder. Then get the patch files, go into the first folder in the patch, open one of the folders (for example if you've downloaded the 16:9 version of the skin you open the folder that says 16:9 and so on).
Select all of the files, the images, the sounds etc. from that folder, copy them and paste them over the files of the base skin.
Reload with CTRL ALT SHIFT S and it should be patched, there's also some extra steps that are detailed in the patch for changing the skip button but they're not necessary.
