What is Liquipedia about?
In short, Liquipedia is a Wikipedia-like database for anything tournament related. The site is 100% community driven and anyone, with a Liquipedia account, can contribute and submit changes to the created tournament pages or make new ones from scratch.
What can you find on the tournament pages?
On the osu! Liquipedia wiki you can find records of completed, ongoing and future tournaments. This includes qualifiers, showmatches and other miscellaneous stuff related to tournaments. On the individual tournament pages, you can find all information related to the tournament: Rules and Format, Core Staff Team, Prize Pools, Participants, Mappools and Brackets.
How are tournaments categorized?
Each tournament has a different level of competitiveness, and that is also reflected on the wiki. Tournaments are split into different tiers depending on their prize pool, region and importance in the community. The tiers range from S to D, with S being tournaments like the different World Cups and D being smaller local tournaments. This way, you can get a feel of tournament importance in one look.
Do players and staff also get pages?
Short answer, yes! The osu! Liquipedia also has pages for players and staffing talents, but not everyone gets a page. Only the players or staff that reach a certain threshold* will have their page created on the main wiki. Their page can have previous results or tournaments they have staffed in, their setup information and some other things about the player or staff themselves on it.
Why does the osu! Liquipedia exist?
All of this is done to preserve osu! Tournament history in a way that is easily accessible for everyone!
