Finally!! Somebody made a video discussing about fandom and how it's fricking annoying. I've been using this website since a long time already and there are a lot things that bother me such as extremely huge advertisements and unwanted features that don't even belong in the page I'm in. I thought I was the only one who hates it, but it seems that a lot of people are also in my side I guess lol

I didn't know that fandom was even that huge of a company. It's crazy that they want to monetize everything just to get profit and nothing else. This is why some wikis have decided to move out and leave fandom behind, which is a good thing, but it's very hard to do since the wikis from fandom cannot be removed apparently...?

I miss when it was called wikia and it ACTUALLY was a service to make your own wikis. It was good for such a long time but it went downhill these years.

It was really a great move for osu! to not get involved in fandom since all the money that they generate with those weird ads are only for their asses. But yeah, it's really easy to create wikis in fandom compared to making your own wiki website.

i'm pretty sure people had made videos about fandom and wikia a long time ago, howver, yeah, they're currently pretty shitty, surprising to see the ammount of controversy and problems a literal wiki can have

Well yeah, this is the problem with pretty much all the wikis

On one hand, you have the creators who want more money and will do everything for it, thus making the wiki worse

On the second, you have shitpost type of people who would ruin the wikis for the sake of fun, thus making the wiki worse

And if you're from Chernobyl, on the third hand, you have promising wikis with good owners and community, but they lack popularity, get overshadowed by fandom, and could eventually close

And uh, tbh I don't really know what the solution could be

Fandom's owner's response - "Go funk yourself"

Next, to delete all the useless and inactive wikis requires a ton of human work and judgement, which is not necessary since it just racks up the numbers fandom can show off to prove that they are better, plus, shitposters can just create a new wiki, it's as easy as ever

I've never said it was easy, I just said that these were the only solutions to make Fandom better than now lol
