Write an in depth review about a country!

Rules:

You must have lived in, or thoroughly have experienced that country.
Must rate the country out of 10, give reasons why you gave that score.
You are allowed to review an already reviewed country.
Must mention a food you ate there at least once (I'm hungry)

Australia, 8/10

I've lived in Australia for 12 years now, so my review might be more helpful for people who are considering living here, as opposed to touring, it also may be a little biased (lol). Overall, Australia is a great country, I've had pretty much no issues with it, and my love for the country expanded after I visited Brisbane. I'll go over some of my favourite things about this country.

The People

I love the people here. Regardless of the common misconception that we're all a bunch of eshays who spit on each other (don't get me wrong, they exist), Australia is a pretty friendly country. Similar to other western countries, Australia promotes speaking to one another as friends, without ever violating each others personal space. This sense of friendliness and community is probably much stronger in regional Australia, naturally because of the size of towns. However, I would like to emphasize that due to the extroverted nature of the people, not all interactions with locals may be friendly, but nonetheless you should have a great time meeting people here.

The Cities

Now I'll be honest, they could be better, and I haven't been to every single Australian city, but the cities aren't a complete shithole. If I had to say what my favourite was so far, it was Brisbane (granted I went at a time where there was quite literally nobody walking around on the street). I'd also recommend Sydney for doing all the touristy stuff. If you like food, Melbourne has arguably the best food culture, since it's treated like art here. It's hard to talk about a food that is exclusive to Australia, since my city is pretty multicultural, Kangaroo tastes alright I guess? Vegemite is good if consumed properly, and our Maccas Ice Cream machine is never broken.

Indonesia, ehh? Alright then

Been here for 20 years. Weather is nice, food is amazing. If you like to travel and eat a lot, you will definitely enjoy it . Indonesia has a lot to offer from Aceh to Papua. Don't forget to pack a lot of sunscreen and cold drinks. It's >30 C, Extreme UV Index, and >90% humidity all year!

People are generally nice and easy to get along with. Indonesian are known for being polite, down-to-earth, and religious (differ wildly from person to person). You might feel like your privacy being invaded by us but that's due to such friendliness nature here. Tell us nicely that you're uncomfortable with it and we'll get it. Can't say for sure how us interact online though.

What could be better:
• Mosque megaphone, you get it no need to explain ehem, kasus meliana masih ingat?
• Traffic and pollution (in Greater Jakarta area only)
• Our lust for anything loud

Thailand

I've lived here my whole life and never travel outside the country. So it's most likely form a perspective of a Thai idiom, "a frog in a coconut shell". Albeit with the coconut shell having some holes to see outside because of I have internet. So I'll review it as a person who lived here. And not a tourist.

The People
"Thai" means "Freedom, not enslaved by others" (Therefore Thailand means Land of the Free). And the people clearly reflected that. Unlike East Asia, there's no strict societal rules or excessive social pressure that you need to conform to (except very basic manners and the law, obviously). The people also have the "I don't mind" attitude when there's some inconveniences occurring. But it also have some downsides, like the traffic laws being mostly suggestions. The people is also quite tolerance and accepting. Or some people took advantage from the "I don't mind" attitude and acting like a d*ck in public (like a certain teenage to young adult demographics who loved to modify their motorcycle and/or "All-new" Isuzu D-max to a certain common characteristics, for example. Not being specific tho). The people is also quite religious, even the self-declared "atheists" on Twitter X would suddenly becomes religious a day before exam. Or on the first and sixteenth of each month (government lottery results days, which is the only legal way of gambling) Trust me.

The food
Thai food IS delicious. And no, our cuisine is not exclusive to spicy foods (but tbh most delicious dishes are spicy). And it's pretty easy to find food stalls and "ตามสั่ง" (literally "as-you-order") restaurants, in the cities at least. So you won't starved here. And is the reason why some people don't even cook at home! We also have quite a lot of fusion dishes like American fried rice that you won't find in America. Or Tokyo snack that you won't find in Tokyo.

Transportation
Outside Bangkok, local area public transit is pretty much nonexistent (except Song-Taew, a pickup truck converted to be a bus and Taxis in touristy cities). Even in Bangkok, the public transit does not have that great coverage and, except some bus lines, is not that reliable (except the metro but it's relatively expensive). Basically, if you don't have a car or a motorbike, you'd feel like a man without legs. Literally. And don't mention bicycles here. Who in the right mind would reasonably bike in a country with 30+++ degrees Celsius all year, with a literal rain season, and especially with traffic laws mostly as a suggestion.

The future
Well, not so good. Thailand is projected to be one of, if not the first country with its people getting old before getting rich. Combine that with the government and bureaucracy that's constantly on news for corruption and you have a sick country with not so bright future.

Overall, I give it a 6.5/10 because while not being a fully developed country (despite starting modernizing at the same time as Japan), at least it's not North Korea or some war-torn-middle-eastern country.

The Netherlands 9/10

i went there a few years ago with my family so we can spend our vacation somewhere
it was during all the summer vacations (from june to september) so does that count? i have family there so maybe lol

we went shopping so we had the opportunity to eat dutch pancakes, and it was yummy!
also, i've noticed that there are A LOT of stroopwafels omggg

it's a 9/10 because the people are so nice, mostly in Amsterdam!
there are more cyclists than cars, exactly what we expected. unfortunately i don't know how to ride a bike so i couldn't enjoy the surroundings, but at least we had a cruise while eating triangular cakes... and that was class!!

Indonesia. Has been here since my descension into this human form. I would say this place is decent. The place is hotter than Itz's mother, traffic jams everywhere, and loud ass motorcycles. Actually, the good parts of this country are the food, people, and views (in some places). The foods are amazing and there are a lot of them because of the mixture of different cultures. The people are nice (as long as you don't annoy them). The views are just wow. 7/10

Double review here, I've spent about a decade in both countries each on a different continent.

USA: 9.5/10

Goat country. There are many things I like about it. I could talk about the great diversity of culture, the many different amazing foods you can find in any major city; but these aren't what I value most about the states. It is a land of opportunity - I am greatly indebted to it for that. My mom arrived from Korea in desolate poverty and speaking no English at the age of 11. She put her all into her education in the hopes of a better life and 11 years later she graduated from one of the best business schools in the world. My dad had only one parent around - his mother who didn't believe in the value of science or of education - and was also in a financially stressed position. He was similarly consumed with academics and went on to get a bachelor's and a master's in computer science from MIT. My parents both went on to have great careers and because of it I am lucky enough to be in a position where I will never have to worry about whether there is food on the table, like my mom did. I don't think I would have been afforded as many luxuries in life as I have been if my parents had met anywhere else.

Malta: 8/10

I like Malta. One of the things I like most is how easy it is to get around. It's a very small place and by car I could get to any of my friends within 30 minutes. I find the food options to be a bit more limiting than in the US, but being so close to Italy it's still hard to complain that there isn't good cuisine. Similarly to the US (although not to the same extent) it is also somewhat of a melting pot of cultures, thanks to it's location in the middle of the Mediterranean (Side note: the language is an interesting mix of Italian and Arabic - it is the only Arabic language written in a latin script). Some of my only complaints are that the place is kind of a concrete jungle - I much prefer Malta's sister island of Gozo visually - and that the Maltese are a bit more xenophobic than Americans. I'm half Korean and sometimes in Malta I see people doing the thing where they pull their eyes and I have been on occasion told to "go back to my country."

People: Generally said, German people can be grumpy. Depending on the area even more grumpy. But most of the time they'll leave you alone, which is a big plus for quiet and introvert people.
If you befriend a German, they're very loyal friends.

Weather: Hard to predict, it rains often.

Food: It's a lot, sometimes really fatty food. Germans do be good at all cooking methods, we cook a lot of not-so-German-dishes too!

Cities: They look really different depending on the area. In the south, we have all this Oktoberfest-vibe you probably know from Germany, while in north of Germany it's really all about embracing being near the sea. Hard to explain. There's also a lot of cities that don't look good and living there is pain as you might just get depressed. No far looks, all you see is grey, I don't know. I moved to the north and it was really the best choice I could make.

People: 50/50, either they are amazing, or they are criminals. Depending of where you are, they will also have a very pleasant accent or a very annoying one, so it really seems like various layers of coin flips. Being friends with people here is really easy, but always be careful with your new friends, choose them well or they will steal your stuff.

Weather: Heat

Food: Delicious. Very well seasoned stuff, various types of food that use all the ingredients possible in this planet, there is no upper limit to how different you can make something really shine here.

Cities: The look is completely RNG, it can be a historical portuguese city, full of old constructions that are quite beautiful, a german generic city that has lots of european style constructions, a soviet desolate land that looks like Sector 5 of Bucharest and a plain boring american city like NYC, full of all the "goodies" that modern Manhattan brings to you.

Safety: No

Economics: REALLY bad, faz o L.

Culture: Amazing, you have pretty much dozens of cultures inside the same country, and all of them work together pretty well, which results in a very rich experience overall.

Overall, this country has a LOT of potential, but criminals, corrupt people and politicians just spoil all the good stuff we have, making this country a literal place in hell.

Austria:

You know what I'm going to say something:

The less people live in a state, the better, no exaggeration lol.

Living in an urban state is actually just a pain in the ass, because it looks like crap it stinks like crap or mold and the amount of stuff you could do with it is also just crap. (for the most part)

I honestly started hating living in here more and more until we moved into a different state.

Living in the rural states honestly is soooo much better than that though and Austria is known for having large amounts of rural areas.

And the food is mostly good.

Even in the urban states it has some highlights, but I recommend living in more rural areas, although you really NEED to either get some good mobility on the buses or trains or you need to have a car or else yeah lol xP
