For the chaos that is the 4* charting, I must say that Insane fits the bill pretty well. Even though there is a lot of variety in 4*, it comes down to the same thing and I feel no improvement at all over the time that I've played it. I can't beat specific charts, ever, etc etc.
The chaos in 4* is so bad that it genuinely haunts me, the star system makes 0 sense at all, I cannot beat a Insane that is literally back in 3* because of health drain. Why does the health drain change so much? Why do I literally have an insane chart that has health drain SO bad that you cannot gain health period? I feel like health drain is a taboo thing but it really does hurt when you are thrown new patterns with relentless health drain. There is no room to improve if more than 75% of insane charts have such a punishing style. If I could spend time to learn longer jumps and all that, I WOULD, but there is no wild instance where these jumps or patterns occur in an environment that I can properly learn timing and precision. The only insane songs I end up beating are either A. actually decent health drain, or B. have patterns similar to Hard. Out of all the insane charts I have, I feel like I can beat less than 25% of them, even after all the time I've tried to play 4*. At this point I can EASILY get through any 3* chart and I want more challenge, but Insane really isn't cutting it, more than half of the charts feel unfair to a point. What do I do?
