your skills are degrading because you are using discord light mode

Actually, look at your playcount history and compare it to anybody who improves fast. That will answer your question.
While you did reach 1k playcount last month, the last time you reached 1k playcount was over a year ago. Speaking from personal experience, I need at least 1k playcount a month as a baseline to maintain skill and I try to reach 2k in order to gain skill. There are some people who can improve much quicker with less playcount by using more efficient methods but I have not figured those out yet. I believe you simply are not playing enough.

I'm ngl I feel like I've been playing osu for every hour already. It's hard to play more :(

Is taking a break a bad thing at this moment? I was thinking maybe I actually played too much
Indomi-chan
how many hours did you play every day?

If we're just talking about the game isolated and not life circumstances, there's absolutely no way you're playing too much. Your playcount this month averages to less than an hour a day.

Idk, I feel really tired everytime I play osu. Probably life issues

(I don't have it when I played any other games)

The answer is play more then?

Yeah probably, it sounds paradoxical but often you have to start doing something to be motivated to do it. But if you play more and still don't really feel like playing, then don't. If you wanna get back to your old skill you'll have to, though.

I definitely relate to osu! being more draining than other games, I blame it on how repetitive it can get (especially if you're not making very tangible progress). Like others said, your skills degraded because you haven't played much. Don't compare where you are now to where you were in the past and you'll have an easier time improving. You can't expect to regain your skill if you're not taking the necessary steps based on where you are right now.

if you dont wanna to play more hours in day, try to only play fews maps that you really like it
this problably wont help bc you barely play the game, but i think this is a little bit of 'playing smart' idk.

btw
if youre playing pushing yourself with this tiny playcount historic, its literally spent of time

I'm trying my best to play more, alright... :(

But football manager is too much fun LOL

Try to relearn the game so you can regain your skills. You have to play high 4* low 5* and then gradually rise in SR

Did you really think I did NOT do that?!!!! bro i've been playing 4.7*-5.2* for my whole fucking osu career LOL
ClevelandsMyBro
lets be real. if youre tired of osu then just stop and take a break. as long as youd like. ive been doing this for years and i always have motivation to come back.

If you know how to play these maps, then play harder/more challenging maps so you can regain your skills!!

I mean I always have motivations, it's just that my skills doesn't align with them lol.

Also, I'm pessimistic of my own osu skills, so I don't think I'll focus on improvement and probably just play more of whatever since basically whatever I played yesterday, I ALWAYS played it worse today, and tomorrow's gonna be even worse lol

Is playing more actually work? I feel like the more I play the worse I play. And when I took a break, my I play abysmally. I'm at lost, please help.

I can't even fc a 4* D:

Look at your current skill level, not your old skill level, and look at it as if it were someone else. If someone were having the tapping/aim/reading problems you're having, but not from losing skill, just for the first time, what would you suggest they do? And do that. If you can't think of what you'd suggest, follow what other people on the forums or on YouTube suggest for those problems. Let's be real, if you "can't even FC a 4*", what are you doing logging in and playing 6* maps with hidden? Of course you're going to play worse every time, you have no foundation. Forget about the 6* maps, forget about your old skill. Don't think how you "should be able to play this", that won't change anything and is unhelpful. I personally have never been able to brute force derusting and have always had to "relearn the game". Don't worry though, it won't take as long to get the skill back as it took to learn it all the first time. Once you figure out the right practice and start improving, it'll go by pretty fast.

What are you expecting me to do? Play 6* with nm? Would made it even worse lmao. I can't read nm at all.

Anyway, I played mostly mid 4* - mid 5*, those 6* I played because I haven't played it before (so no "I could do this before" mindset)

idk what you're expecting people to say, there's no magic solution here where you just get your skill back through playing a handful of maps a day that you're unable to play. That seems to be what you want people to tell you, some magical tip where you don't have to play more or do anything that isn't fun. That tip doesn't exist. To get your skill back, you'll probably have to start with playing 4.0-4.75* until you're actually able to FC them consistently, and you'll have to play for at least an hour, two ideally. Depending on how rusty you are, you might even have to play 3*. If you can't FC the lower SR, that's your "improvement zone" right now. There's no way around it, sorry.

Of course that much I know. Even I don't believe that there's an actual "instant" way to improve. (Even you'd need to cook an instant noodle.)

It's just that, I asked 2 people, both having a different answers.

One said that I should take a break, that I should play the game with clear mind without any stresses at all, or any fatigue.

While the other said that I should play more, and that the key for improving is to play consistently.

In my opinion, both of course makes sense. And I'm here just at lost on which way to go. If I was playing with a clear mind, of course I would've enjoyed playing the game, no?

So you're going to choose the quit w option?

Imo the solution is really a mix of both, I don't think they're contradictory. I've had issues with having motivation to draw. When I don't draw at all, I'm never motivated to draw. I have to force myself to draw every day, and once I do that, I'm excited about drawing, have lots of ideas, etc. When I've simply waited for motivation to draw, it takes months or years for me to pick up a pencil. Just make yourself play the amount that you know you need to to improve four or five days of the week. If you still find it a chore and not fun after a few weeks, you need a break.

If the play more option doesn't work, then take a break and come back later so you can become stronger!

almost everyone in the community took a break and it worked! even for me
