Hello everyone, I'm opening this topic for the 3rd time, and if I need to start from scratch: I started playing osu! about a year ago, and I'm currently grasping its mechanics. One benefit of playing osu! was that it encouraged me to get a new keyboard. Now, I'm using the Steel Series Apex Pro, and it feels great to play with. Apart from that, I use a mouse because it's more comfortable for me (I tried using a tablet, but it wasn't as comfortable as the mouse).

Currently, I'm facing an issue that you will understand if you watch the video. I'm trying to improve my aiming skills, but it seems like it will take time to develop. I can't tell if the problem is due to being nervous or my inability to read the patterns and pressing the keys too quickly. As time goes on, I feel like I'm not making any progress, and this is making me lose interest in osu!. Additionally, my fingers are getting strained. If you watch the whole video, it will be more helpful to understand the situation. I've reached a critical point, and I'm torn between quitting and continuing. Can you suggest a real path for self-improvement?

I also prefer playing at this BPM, and I mostly play 5-6star maps because they feel more comfortable to me. I can't play lower star maps either

Best regards!

It looks like you are just reacting to the map instead of reading it, you should try to play easier maps and do your best to snap to each note, altough it all comes down to just playing more i would suggest trying lower ar.

I'd try easier maps with lower ar. Also something that works great for me is to take breaks from the game, like from few days to a week maybe (if you dont already), it seriously helps a lot, you're giving your brain a chance to rest and kinda process the stuff you've been trying to learn. Switching to different skins is something that can help with accuracy too.

If this is too long and you won't read, you need to watch this video: https://youtu.be/vhpkAiPOTq8

Definitely play lower difficulty maps (even if they're uncomfortable to you). Always remember that Osu! is a rhythm game, not an aim game. Accuracy is the most important. If you feel more comfortable playing 5-6 stars than playing 3-4 stars, you are definitely stuck in a beginner's trap. I saw that you've played beatmapsets/725428#osu/1531707 at least 10 times, failing the first 8 times and finally getting a C rank on the 9th attempt. I'm not trying to embarrass you or anything (because basically everyone starts out like this), but you need to see the point, which is that this is in no way a great method to improve.

Analogous to piano, you can not simply play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and then jump straight into Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2, throwing in attempts after attempts. You have to gradually improve, which is why you should focus on getting high accuracy (at least around 96%+) FCs (full combos) on lower star maps first. You also need consistency, so do not keep spam retrying a map. If you miss on a good run, keep going; if you fail the map, move on.

Lastly, you haven't even played that much in the past year or at all in general. Play more often and be patient!

I thank you for your kind compliments and advice. There is probably some truth in everyone saying this, and I will take your advice into consideration and give it a try. Maybe after a while, I can share my progress, ahahaha. <3
