I mean, I was in the same position you were about 2 years ago. I like to credit my prior history with GH/RB being the main contributor to ascending as fast as I did, but it's not like it's impossible for you to get to us.THETM wrote:

It varies, sometimes I look at my rank decay and think I'm washed, but then other times I think of the variety of maps I can play without a problem (playing my first 2 tournaments really helped with this).
Obviously I'm not horrible at the game, but I just play maps I like or think would be a cool score to set, but numbers can sometimes skew your perception of things.

also you can outspin 477rpm auto mod on some maps (get higher score than auto mod) because it takes a fraction of a second to set up it's spin before it starts spinning (and you as a human can do it immediately if you're prepared).

I don't know... what defines a player as good or bad? Anyway, comparing my current skill with the skill I could have, I'm far from good.
My mindset is that everybody "sucks" at the game since there can always be better. Keeps me happy and enjoying the game since everyone sucks along with me

Weirdly enough, I'd say another one of my strengths is that I think I'm quite versatile. While my skill is not high, I think that the things I can play within that skill range is more than most too, the only thing I don't think I can play comfortably is Speed, but most other mods and types of maps I can do.

3 years and still mid 6 digit and can't fc 4 stars, yeah I don't think I will fool myself anymore.

I know nothing about you as a player, and so I won't pass any judgement on your skill level, but the number of people who have invested a non-negligible amount of time into this game is probably like 500k, I dont think it's practical to compare yourself to people who basically installed, played 3 maps without even knowing they had the option to use keyboard instead of mouse buttons, and probably don't even remember the game anymore.
To answer the question, yes I do believe that I am a good player, if I had to categorize myself as either "good" or "bad" (or "not good" etc).

Honestly I don't think I'm very good yet. Definitely not good enough but that's kinda what makes me wanna play, there's always something to improve.
