there is already some ammount of drama in this thread so let me probably add a bit of fuel to the fire with a personal hot take
I personally don't like rp threads that much
yeah the idea is cool once in a while, but, for example, the workshop, I saw the thread, I suggested something, it got drawn, and it was actually very high quality, it was clear that there was effort put behind it, but after that, you didn't really have any reason to make another post in the thread, which makes the rp element a bit useless
most rp threads follow the formula of x place or x thing that will give you y if you ask for it, a shop that sells you a potion for example, and in this threads you aren't really posting a lot of times, which makes forming an rp character almost impossible unless you force it
and when I post to OT is either when I just woke up or just before going to sleep, and I just don't really want to put the effort in for something like that when probably the next rp post will be on a totally different historical age making a lot of what I just did irrelevant
I'm not really attacking anyone for making this type of threads or that enjoy them more than I do, as I said, they take a lott of effort most of the time, but I just cant see why the workshop for example couldn't be "I will draw your inventions" or something along those lines, if I wanted to roleplay I would just wait untill sunday where I have D&D session with my irl friends
that would still be a very much, high quality thread, and it would not fall under the "lore" or "Roleplay" threads, it's just, it would be basically the same
I just feel that these last few months we've been trying to force lore so hard, when someone did news, everyone else did it, someone opens a shop, now I open a hospital with the exact same system, and it just doesn't work, because the formula isn't just too rp friendly, and then, those threads fail at creating lore or doesn't go anywhere outside making cool pictures and similar, after that, people stop doing it, and lastly, more people complain about not being enough of those threads and the process repeats
I've only been around 6 months in OT, and I haven't made any RP threads myself either, so you should probably take my opinion with a grain of salt, as closing thoughts, I would suggest anyone looking to make an RP thread to make a more RP heavy thread than the ones we actually have, and with all of that said, i'm going to sleep, so cya
