osu! version: Stable 20220101.1 (latest)

[EDIT] I fixed it by going into the local config file and changing CompatabilityContext = 1 to 0. I didnt see it at first but its weirld how its different from the in-game setting

Hold the shift key while opening osu, if this is done correctly it should open the repair dialogue. From there, toggle Compatibility mode, then click the Start osu! button :)

Before or after clicking on it? It would still show the crashed popup. Sometimes it would show the updater but it would fail too :(

If you are still having the issue, hold shift before clicking osu, but kept it held.

If that doesnt work, you can navigate to your osu! folder (the default path is C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\osu!) and double click the file called "repair osu!". The from there you can do the same thing i suggested above.
