Greetings!

Today I am announcing the officially unofficial Off-Topic Movie Night! Once a week, I will be hosting a movie watch party in the official Off-Topic discord server, OT!neus! I will be streaming the movie using discord's integrated streaming software, so don't worry about needing any video streaming services. You don't need anything except to be in the discord server!

I would like to be at the very least a little democratic about this, so if you would like to participate, go ahead and fill out this poll so that we can figure out what works best for everyone participating.

I think we tried something similar a while back.
The stream was super scuffed so it wasn't enjoyable.

However we just played scrible.io instead and it was a lot of fun.

yeah, I think I joined in on that near the end of the session. I have good internet, so as long as the viewers internet is semi-decent, it should all work out.

also are we restricted to picking only G-PG 13 rated movies, or can there be R rated movies as well?

I don't think R rated movies should be a problem. So I suppose it's fine.

I’m gonna take the best suggestions from my poll and run a new poll a few days before the movie night.

I might have themed weeks as well. For example, horror week, Christmas week, studio ghibli week, etc.

If you can think of a better way to implement the choosing of movies, feel free to let me know. I doubt my method is anything near good.

pretty much what I was thinking. Make a poll for initial movies, pick 5 at random (or themed) for a second poll.

I have gone through all of your movie suggestions! Surprisingly, you guys suggested a lot of good movies! Unfortunately though, I cannot include all of them, so I tried my best to included movies from a widespread of genres.

every single response except 1 or 2 said that 12 UTC works for them. I'll probably switch it up every now and than to give everyone a chance to join. 8UTC works for a lot of people too.

my sleep schedule is garbage, so I'm usually awake at that time anyways. West coast as well.

but in all seriousness, I havent watched all those movies except for wall-e and shrek, though all of them seem pretty gud


and 12 utc is like 8am here, so I have to wake up early for this lel, though if the movie is quite long, then I may be able to catch up to the screening

UPDATE!

Movie starts in 8 hours. the movie choice is a 3-way tie, so it will be decided by the people who actually show up to watch the movie. be there or be circle. ok bye.
