2*: learn how to play the game first
3*: triumph and regret, anemone, ascalon, now go back to getting better once you’re happy with you’re new top play of 98pp
4* and beyond: look at other people’s top play and just copy them

same answer every time...

Kinda new to osu, just joined a month ago. I don't know why pp is bad for me though, they usually say "Hey Farm More PP to Increase your Global Rank". Would you tell me why is it bad?

certainly.

osu!mania's difficulty ranking system (and one of the main factors in distributing pp) is absolutely terrible. Maps that give a high pp output do not correlate to map difficulty whatsoever. A lot of players who focus on pp during the earlier stages of their skillset development generally won't improve very much due to the lack of variety in the ranked pool of osu!mania. If you want a high rank for osu!mania, then yeah grind pp. But if you're trying to improve at the game, pp maps should be your lowest priority.

The act of playing a pp map isn't bad, they can still be fun or good charts, but you shouldnt let it become your focus. There are a lot of important skillsets to learn for higher level play that are pretty rare in the ranked list, some even in loved.

If you havent already, consider trying the reform Dans, they should give you a pretty good idea where youre at as a player and potentially help you determine what skillsets you may want to practice. ^^

All that being said, ultimately you should do what you find the most fun. If thats PP maps then so be it. Just be aware of the potential drawbacks of focusing on them too much.

Good luck, feel free to PM if you have any questions ^^

Thank You for the Explanation. I now understand why, I will improve my skills, and farm PP maps until I'm satisfied with my rank. I might as well do the same in osu!standard. Thank You for the Details again :)

Lol you can also smurf in multi lobbies and low rank tournaments. Also people respect non-farmers quite a bit so there’s that as well.

honestly, if you play mania at a level above 5 stars then you have no options but to either be a farmer or to play only unranked maps.
